Hi all can anyone recommend a camera where I can monitor my reef while on vacation? Not trying to spend $100+ it could even be a home surveillance camera

I want to be able to have a live video 24/7 that I can monitor during any time of the day.

I use two D-LINK DCS-5222LB IP webcams. One on my DT and another in the fish room.

They work really well and have a nice app. I’ve travelled all around the world for work and the visual monitoring really helps identify if anything goes wrong while I’m away.

I picked up a couple of Yi dome cameras just to watch my house, I also use them to watch the tanks as well. Live stream, good pic, motion sensor, zoom. Not bad for the money.

It’s Wyze Cam. I haven’t set mine up but it looks perfect for this application.
I agree, We have 2 of these cameras and for the money you can’t beat it, I got them from Amazon Prime.

I'll check then out thanks all, going on vacay for 2 weeks I have someone to feed the tank but wanna make sure everything is ok throughout the day

def get a wyze cam (or a few)-- really good quality and can't beat the price since they sell at just over cost. You'd think that means bad quality or a bad software experience but it doesn't. They are making a huge bet on great software coupled with low prices to get to a very large market share.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
And these cameras are real time correct?

That’s exactly what I was looking for ! And at 1080p sub 100$ yeah that will do.

Thanks !

@Zeal yes I think they are like the one people use to check in on Home alone dogs. Activates when you want to view in real time.

Haven’t gone for a vacay after owned a tank. How can you guys automate all the ATO, feeding (those fish eat frozen only), skimate overflow, etc?
Anyway, +1 on Yi cameras. Live stream, no need subscribe for storages, 1080p, motion and sound, night vision all under $50.

@wiselyy73

For ATO there are a few companies that have great products. Tunze and JBj. I run the Tunze one and it’s bulletproof. Your then only limited be container size.

Food - start to Introduce a flake food to the diet for this reason. I like flake food for vacation as pellets are very dense with nutrients and can hurt a tank if too much is left over. Ehime makes a good auto feeder

Skimate - if you skimmer cup has a drain on it (little stick off bottom of low side of cup) run a rubber hose to a milk jug, ice tea jug, ect to collect in that while your gone.

Hope some of this info helps you.

I use wyze on the end of my 6’ tank. Works awesome! And it sticks to the magnet on my gyre.
