So i have started a 10g dt with 10g sump/fuge. In the sump i have a Coralife protein skimmer 65 and t5 light in the dt. Can anyone one tell me if i need anything else to put in the system to have corals

Flow, good flow, roughly 30-50x the turn over/gph of the display. More if you advance into sps.

Flow is important, it helps the bacteria do their job, and brings nutrients to the corals and/or skimmer. You do NOT need 50X flow. If the total flow rates of all pumps is 20X the DT, you are in the ballpark. Yes SPS like even more, OR you put the SPS in the high flow areas.

You have the equipment for a 40-55g? Why not go with that? Will be easier to take care of and give you room for a mistake or two? 10g has no room for mistakes! You can have that when you know what your doing

No dosing initially, you can get by on routine water changes for many months.

IMO go with a 40 breeder. there just isn't enough depth on a 55 to let you be creative with your aqua scape . I am getting Reay to move to a 75 after 6 months in a 55. I have wanted to make the change since month 1.

Yes buying a new tank would be easy but then there is a new lights, stand heater more sand and rock that $55 tank just turned into 600+

You can always upgrade as you go, start off with a swim tank, and as you get more gear move into corals

+1... The extra 6" depth is priceless

A tank as small as 10 gallons will be a challenge even for someone with lots of experience. Also, you will outgrow a 10 gallon very quickly and the larger tank will be something you will want in six months. Yes getting a 40 or 55 will cost more to setup, but it will be something you're going to do eventually anyways.

Sorry, that's a bit away from having what you need.
Rock will prob cost a lot and sand comparing to a 10g, but no rush! You won't need the lighting till you need it for corals. Just use the right one for now so your algae stays at check and doesn't cause problems.
Rock is tricky buying used unless you acid dip it.
Fresh dry rock from a trusted person is the only way I'll cure it and intrudes it to my DT so be carful of buying used LR

If you are content with the size of the 10 gal, and willing to only stock fish suitable to be in a 10 gal. Than stick with it.

The best thing, and an ABSOLUTE MUST for a nano tank in my opinion is getting the Tunze ATO for nano tanks. Its a 100 bucks but you will never have to worry about topping off the water. Just find a way to get a 5 gallon bucket somewhere close to the tank and you will be set and parameters would stay nice and steady after the tank is established.

I would just do a clown goby or two in the tank if it were me. Maybe something similar.

Lol, take it you have a nano? But good advise, that the main thing to a nano is keeping the salinity stable!
:)

No i dont have a Nano just a small tank. But i check me tank every morning for temp. Ammonia. Nitrates nitrites and salinity levels i have had no change just perfect parameters.

I will have to look into that i already have a clown in the tank for 5 days and a peppermint shrimp 3 crabs to snails and looking at getting a redheaded goby.
Also have 3 crabs tomorrow if you GM some things well all livestock seem very happy.

He meant a clown goby, not "nimo"
