Looking to do a reef tank

Lol, take it you have a nano? But good advise, that the main thing to a nano is keeping the salinity stable!
:)

Hahah actually only if you count a 30gal frag tank as a nano.. But I have a tunze ATO on both my 180 and the 30 gal frag tank. Worth every single penny.

No i dont have a Nano just a small tank. But i check me tank every morning for temp. Ammonia. Nitrates nitrites and salinity levels i have had no change just perfect parameters.

If it's all good don't need to do anymore ammonia or nitrite tests, tank will let you know if you have to do them :)
Good to know people like there tanks

Me too, I can't stop with adding tanks lol :)
I really just want one, let's say about 300g+ lol.,,,, I've only got a 150g, 2 29g, 1 75g and a 55g. It's a task and pain in the )&"
I just really want a nano lol

No i have a clown fish then said i was looking at getting a redhead goby so im just curious of if there is a difference between red and clown goby

They look different and act different and most clown gobies get up to 1,1/2"
Red head gobies grow to 2"
I'd go with the red head, he can be like a cleaner wrasse

Yeah thats what i was reading do they have a bad habit of jumping through small holes lol my lid has few holes. Where filters and old plumbing went through

Any fish can jump out if stressed, gobies won't unless they have bad company, they intend to stay at the bottom of the tank. Sleeper goby is a different story, they love to swim and scoop sand up and spit it over coral and lr

Starting off with a 10 gallon is fine. Yes problems with water quality happen faster, but if you stay on top of weekly water changes and water testing you will be fine. Also do not over stock it, that is where you need to really pay attention. I started with a 20 gal with no sump, reactors, skimmer, or filter, just power heads and have had great success. I do weekly water changes of 10-20% and 40-50% monthly changes. Just get a turkey baster and blast your rocks before you do a water change to get the fish poo etc. out of the tank
