Looking to get some leds for my first 55 gallon setup HELP!

So ive beeen looking into getting some leds for my first saltwater tank. Ive been looking at the cheap ebay lights and am wondering if they will work to grow coral as i am trying to sabe money where possible. those are probably fine. BUT. look for the mars aqua. usually you can get them for $80. worth the extra bit. ya want a little better and cooler(imo) pop sbreeflights plain janes about 120 i think.

also look used.

here on r2r for one. $200 is a tough number for a 48in tank.

Go to eBay and search for Mars Aqua 300w. I run these on my 65 and it's plenty of light for my corals. I believe they run about $165 and free shipping. It's a 31" long light. Worth every penny. And also a great beginner light.

you get a guarantee and hes a sponsor here. ebay is ebay. IMO i like the color.
the OR is a good light, and programmable. HUGE bonus. timers are a pain.

Unless you like blurple though get ready to swap some diodes. That's easy enough though as reef breeders sells cheap diodes for a dollar.

They are all going to be blurple. At the end of the day all these things are Chinese black boxes that come from the same exact place no matter what the manufacturer tells you.

Yup, the different brands just pick out the different brands and colors of LED they want in each location.

I would also point out that if you get a dimmable version of the black boxes, it is easy to convert them later for control with an Apex or other aquarium controller.
