Well. I'm not sure. I think some came off... but there are definitely still there.

I have also been struggling with bacterial infections during qt also, which is undoubted due to the small 20g qt I use. Unfortunately I don't have a larger tank that I can leave up. Therefore I have been trying to minimize my qt time by putting the fish in copper for 14 days and then transferring them to a clean tank for observation while still at a therapeutic level of copper. So far this has been successful through 2 rounds of qt. I plan to continue to use this method to better understand its repeatability for parasites.

@juicemanatx What I'm seeing now (in your most recent photos) looks more like a bacterial infection than black ich. I would treat with one of the following:
Whichever one you choose, make sure to treat for at least 10-14 consecutive days.

To the casual reader and op -- if you lose fish during freshwater dips and follow the instructions exactly, it was too late for the fish at that point. Oftentimes, people wait until the fish is on its last hour before treating. This won't work, but it's always better than not trying. A fish shouldn't die during FW dip or become notably worse off unless it was a goner anyway, unfortunately.

What's funny is his Popeye had just started going down last night..... bummer.

But here's a few shots of the spot on his abdomen. That's what i was talking about.

So very sorry for your loss of this guy . . .

That still looks bacterial to me, but also looks pretty advanced.

~Bruce

It literally just popped up 2-3 days ago. The Popeye had been there but that was it.

Sorry for the loss. Yeah, there are some bacterial infections (gram negative) that can kill faster than velvet.
