Although we are not competing for a prize in this contest, we can't resist joining in on the fun.

The new tank has been ordered (just waiting for delivery) and we picked up a used glass sump this past weekend.

30g Deep Blue Rimless aquarium. Dimensions: 24"x24"x12
20g Long Sump

Mike is building a custom aquarium stand. Dimensions: 48"x26"x36"

Lighting will be LED's and we're looking at building a DIY fixture.

DIY 5g ATO

Not sure on the return pump - we've probably got something that will work out in the garage, lol.

We'll either add a Tunze nanostream or Vortech mp10wes - haven't decided yet. We also need to make a decision on the skimmer and controller.

The tank background and sand will be black and we'll be using man made VidaRock structures from Aqua-tecture

We'll be stocking a mix of LPS, zoas and palys.

We haven't decided on fish, but may add the Banggai Cardinal pair that are chilling in the QT.

You are going to have a great tank!

Wow, those Aqua-tecture structures are great. I found two pieces that would be awesome in my tank :)

I won't steal ideas though, haha.

I already did steal ideas. LOL!

We just replaced some live rock in the center-right area of our DT with one of the bonsai structures and I've gotta say it is awesome. Very open and lots of areas to place corals.

Can't wait for pictures! :D Seems like a lot of people are going with black sand on these tanks.

Be original Rev :)

bahahaaaah... There are quite a few VidaRock options and with tanks being different sizes, I doubt they would look the same, especially once corals start growing in.

I'm gonna use ideas from that site, but won't buy them. I already have ideas on how I want my rock anyway and how I'm gonna do it.

Can't wait to see what you guys pick out and how you'll do it. You're making me want to setup my 2x2x1 instead of the 9 gal, haha

I suckered you into getting the smaller one so I could one up you. HA!

Nah I am not sure yet which tank I will do but it will be on the smaller size. I am also going to do my own rock structure mister BTK! :D

Haha. I'll stick with the smaller one since its on the way already and I bought the stand. If I did the 2x2x1, I'd have to build a stand, which is something I really don't wanna do right now.

Great choice on the vida rock. I'm really looking forward to seeing this come together.

I just got a call from the freight company. They will be delivering the tank sometime tomorrow between 10 and 5pm. The wait is killing me, LOL!

Mike picked up the lumber and supplies for the stand last night and plans to start putting it together tonight. We'll start posting pics once we have something to show for our efforts.

Yay! :) can't wait to see! The stand build will hopefully inspire me to get the wood siding up on mine.
