M&T's Shallow Rimless Nano Reef

We have a small update... Construction of the stand has begun :hammer::

Hahah, yes it is way larger than it needs to be (L48"xW26"xH36") and will be over-engineered, but I wanted to have a lot of room under the stand for the equipment and topoff, plus we could potentially upgrade the tank size later.

Heck yea looking BEAST! Love it. :)

The freight company delivered the tank this morning and it looked great - EXCEPT it was the WRONG tank! :squigglemouth:

Grrrrrrhhhhh... :flame:

It looked like a 50g NON reef ready as it was 3 ft long and looked to be about 16" tall.

It was at least the correct manufacturer, LOL.

Hahah, it's too narrow front to back for my stand and is NOT reef ready, lol.

The good news is I am now off the hook with the company that sold it. One of the semi local LFS' here said they can get the tank for me for $150 less. I can put the savings towards a skimmer.

But, MAN, was I bummed when I saw that tank this morning...

Yeah, that really stinks man. Now you have me worried about my tank coming in tomorrow, haha

Dang that stinks! So have you contacted the company?

Yes. They said that they shipped out a 30g and a 50g the same day and they believe it was a Fedex mixup. Thankfully, they are refunding my money.

I'm sure the folks that ordered the 50g are going to be unhappy when the 30g shows up at their doorstep, lol.

A small update...

I will be picking up our new 30g rimless from the LFS tomorrow - WOOT!

Ah yea!

Look foward to seeing the new tank, at least the mixup worked out in your favor and will save you some money to be used towards other things :D

Sound like you have had a time of things. I can't wait to see the new tank!

I sent an email to the LFS this morning to verify the tank was there before driving up (it's about a 1.5 hour drive one way). At 12:30, I called the shop because I hadn't received a response and talked w/the owner who happened to mention that two local reefers were there picking up a 75g tank. She then asks them if they would mind dropping my tank off for me. Well, long story short they were kind enough to deliver my tank early this evening and here it is:

We've now decided to turn the stand into a bar since it's going to sit in the breakfast nook in our kitchen, so back to the drawing board, LOL. Hoping it will be ready next weekend.

That is a beuaty of a tank.

Thats a cool looking little tank, can't wait to see what you put in there.

Beautiful looking tank, looking foward to seeing stand deuce ;)

Woohoo....glad you got it in guys. Looking forward to seeing it come to life :)

Thanks everyone! Sorry we haven't updated in a while. We've been pre-occupied w/new, sick fish in our QT. We decided to have a cabinet maker build the stand since it is going to be sitting in our breakfast nook and we are planning to add a quartz counter top bar to match our existing counters in the kitchen. So for now, we're in "hurry up and wait" mode, lol.

In the meantime, a couple of new toys have arrived:
