It was a crazy situation. When the Bell's went missing Mike checked the overflow box, but it is very hard to see in there because it is located in the middle back of the tank and there is a lot of turbulence in there. We only found him because Mike pulled one of the Herbie drain pipes out during maintenance and when the overflow drained, we heard him "flapping" his fins. I don't believe he would have lasted two more days in that environment. I honestly didn't think he would make it the first few days as I have never seen a fish that emaciated come back from the brink before.

Glad you liked the video, and wow that fish sure went through a lot, and I mean a LOT ... surprising indeed that you managed to pull him through and fatten him back up.

Nice to read that his overall appearance is getting back to what it should be.

Yes, he was quite the looker... His appearance and condition were shocking when we found him (I can't emphasize that enough, LOL). At least the transition to female has reversed, he's growing and his coloration continues to improve.

Thanks guys! The LED's really make the piece pop. Our friends tore down their tank and sold everything, except for a purple w/green tips bta and this massive colony (it's at least 7"). They had the two sitting in a small frag tank for a year or more... They mentioned the colony to us when they came over for New Years and then things got busy and we all promptly forgot about it until this past weekend, LOL.

I had to do some re-arranging of corals due to the size of this piece and I haven't quite got things looking the way I want. I'll post an FTS in the next day or two.

Yes for that size I can indeed imagine you had to do a more than just a "little" re-arraging. That piece is huge and looking super as I said ... going to need a lot of feeding but they are great corals indeed. Have not seen that large one for some time. Happy reefing.
