Thanks Steve

remember pic does not do the corals on the rack justice!!

Awesome Steve. I'm thinking about making one sometime this week or next. Any suggestions? It looks pretty simple so I'm sure I will just play around with some idea.

I kinda winged it. I used a 6x3 inch peice of eggcrate and some super glue and it was done after it dryed.

I suppose you can do silicone too, that if you want to do a bigger one with a bigger mag float. I used the small one.

Steve :)

I am going to make one myself this week and hopefully clean up the sand bed from frags. Plus when I make frags it will be better to have them in the rack then scattered all over the tank.....

^^
Go to Home Depot and head to the paint dept, grab yourself a $3 stick of "Aquamend" (same as the putty that lfs sells for $14) and bond the eggcrate to the mag float. Stays very sturdy :) until you wanna pry it apart.

I've been making these racks for a long time now, and never had any problems with weight, and I just use super glue!

What I meant was, the magnet remained on the rack, the magnet just couldn't handle the weight of the rack with a mess of frags on it.

I just got done making my frag rack today and have frags in half of it already.....Really cleaned up the bottom of the tank.

Ooooooh yeaaaaaaaah, I love Superglue. Although, I used a small square of eggcrate inbetween the lexan and actual rack to disperse the weight a little better.

Cool Beans! Wheredid you get the Lexon strips and do they bend easy?

Lexan can be purchased at most big name hardware stores. Go to the window section as they sell it as a repair kit for broken windows.

I purchased a cheap heat gun that makes quick work of these pieces. I even made an overflow with some black acrylic.

The cheaper heat gun was my gas stove:D , lexan bends easily. I like to have a straight edge to bend it on so you get a more true 90 deg.
