Mangrove swamp

This thread may be going a whole different route. Heather and I have been discussing a much smaller version of the 120 dream.

stay tuned.

So my t5 is down I moved the lights over to the dream. Should have done this months ago. It's spectacular. Now to find a par meter. I'm making adjustments from the enabled thread to be ball park for the dream.

Thank goodness I wrote all this down here.

Noops holding thier own even kept the programing. Wow not to shabby. They have been off for almost 6 months and kept programing only off by an hour due to time change

Update.
The enabled upgrade is now the mangrove swamp.
It's a 50g Rubbermaid stock tank

The life support is very simple. Internal canister with filter floss and carbon. Marineland mj 1200 running into a sock. The sock is held in place by a eflux magnet.

Noopsyche for the light. It's set to run at 100%

Approximately 35lbs of rock.

Live stock.
Half back angel. Banished from the dream.
3 peppermint shrimp
Hermits and assorted snails.

3 mangrove sprouts all with 2 leaves. A 4th will be added soon that has about 6 leaves.

Plans
Rfa and bta. With macros that I can feed to the dream.

The mangroves are in terracotta pots.

2 inches sand on bottom organic potting soil 2 inches of sand on top.

*Note*
there's many ways to plant and care for mangroves. This is the route i choose.

Do not using potting mix it is extremely light and not real soil. It will make an absolute mess of the tank. Thought I had potting soil and it was a potting mix.

Before placing Potts into the tank slowly pour water through the mix. This will water log the soil and stop it from floating up and will keep pot from floating. If you pour the water to fast you will create deformations and the soil will rise above the sand.

It will take sometime before the mangrove start sprouting. But when they do, the mangrove a nice to look at. When the mangroves start to sprout, spray the mangrove leaves with water, not salter but fresh water one a week. This will hydrate the plant. I used RO/DI so not to get the bad stuff from tap water.
