New frag I just got has 2 head of aptasia. Is there anyway I can manually remove these before they start to spread? I’ve been trying to pick them off with tweezers but they close up so fast and they won’t come off. Any easy tricks? Home remedy’s I can stew up?

I remove rock and use toothbrush to scrub....then paper towel to clean the brown goo left behind

I then put my wife's toothbrush back in its holder. kidding

If deep in a hole, use a toothpick or some other sharp item to dig around in the hole until you see brown goo

Depends where they are in relation to corals tissue. The best method I've found is to remove the frag and burn the aips off with a heated impliment (screw driver works well). The good thing about this, apart from the satisfying hiss, is you have the best chance of stopping them coming back. Any material, even one cell, will regrow into a new aiptasia.
It might also be better to chip the coral off and remount it rather than risk an aip plague in the future.

Go to Walmart and get a syringe from pharmacy. Smallest they got. And lemon juice or kalkwasser mix. Inject it in the base of the nem. Outside of tank is best

One can try manual removal but they will grow back from a very small piece of flash left on the piece. Best to encase them in super glue or reef glue. If I see aptasia in a dealer or friends system I just don’t buy from them. Just not worth the trouble

I would try to burn them off with a small butane torch or cigarette lighter too. This only takes a few seconds to do. Like mentioned above it does depend on how close the Aiptasia is to the coral itself though.

I have a very tiny one between 3 acan colonies on a big rock I cant take out... im guessing Red Sea Aptasia X is going to be the only trick

Aptasia X or Joe's Juice. Shake the bottle. Take a small amount into a 1 ml syringe with a fine tip. Practice how much pressure is needed to dispense it, over the sink. Turn off all pumps. Position the syringe over the nem's tentacles and dispense just a tiny bit, and watch the nem grab it and eat it. Don't try to smother the nem with it, that'll be too much. Repeat with the next aptasia or majano. Turn pumps back on.

I’ve used similar products and killed the most beautiful toadstool with lime green polyps.
How did that happen? I just injected an aptasia within 1/8 of an inch to my home wrecker colony without even thinking twice about it.
It works perfectly if used exactly as instructed.

Concentrated? How many ML?

I took just a bit of real lemon lemon juice and stuck it in the base. I got one big one I can’t get to without dismantling my aquascape. Two small ones that will be getting the juice tonight. Kalkwasser works well also but can effect your tank if not careful

I think they were touching at the foot so they shared the pain

I prefer to remove the object in question and discard it into the trash with much aggravation and anger. I hate these things!

If I really wanted to keep object they're growing on, I would;

1) Remove object from tank and place in container of tank water.

2) Scrape aiptasia off with a blade of some sort.

3) Brush area with a Battlebrush or stiff toothbrush.

4) Rinse thoroughly. Several times.

5) Super glue over area with gusto.

6) Hope the little devils don't come back.

I've dealt with aiptasia in past setups. They are hard to get rid of once they multiply.

Aiptasia X has made them spread even worse for me in the past. Same with Joes juice. Stresses the aiptasia causing in to release babies by twisting off tentacles. And if you get either of those products on acro tissue, it'll kill that area, ime.

Perhaps the spores were already in the water column before using ApX?
I have never witnessed any such thing by employing it. If you stay on them you will keep them at bay..
