Marine velvet and hydrogen peroxide.

I do not know if copper + H2O2 can be safely combined. Never done it before.

However, you can dose most antibiotics in conjunction with copper if you are trying to treat a bacterial infection.
I should test this! I happen to have both

Did you test this on a fish? I would wait at least week or two (of continuous exposure) before making a final determination.
No I just tested for any gasses (chemical reaction) 1:1 ratios of saltwater, H2O2, copper sulfate
More along the lines of personal safety as I learned never to mix vinegar with bleach!

I think this may be a feasible approach using H2O2 and copper combined in QT I will have to try this out

Be sure to document and keep us up on the results. If you did this, it would be like a second best to having humble do the experiment himself! Neither he or I are in a situation where we can do experiments right now. ;)

Is it strange that I'm currently at the beach and yet miss having a room full of sick fish to treat? ;)

QT all corals and inverts for 76 days. That's the only way to guarantee that these diseases won't get into the system. Dips won't kill the tomont stage of these parasites as not even copper will do that.

I'll say that if you go this route of treating your fish with hydrogen peroxide instead of copper, you should take the copper out right now. to have a good experiment they shouldn't have been exposed to copper first - this will skew your data. IMO if they fish are doing fine in the copper, then go ahead and save their lives that way. Find a fish with velvet at the LFS and try your experiment on that one. This way you can start-to-finish treat him with the H2O2 and get real results, whatever they end up being.
X2

I hope it works but I'm doubtful. I do have experience dosing hydrogen peroxide to rid parasites which I later learned were velvet. It did NOT work and I grossly overdosed and daily.

Poor "experiment" but a few months of trying.

I plan on experimenting with H2O2 in the future, but first as a substitute for the formalin or acriflavine bath. Will go from there.

Shoot. I think so? Hopefully he chimes in here.

i did. and it works remarkably well for ich/velvet.

i do 20 ml per 5 gallon bucket with fw bath.(10 minutes) i forgot where the corporate companies with livestock do the same ratio to prevent losses. i posted the research previously.

I wounded why this is never used to treat ich or velvet in a DT. Russ265 what would you dose in a DT with a mixed Reef?

get the fish out. i dont treat a DT with thousands of dollars worth of coral.

all my fish could die and they still wouldnt amount to risking my rommel insane milli, walt disney, joes rainbow.....(yes we know the list)
