So i got my results in. Very concerned. 28ppt is my salinity. Im sure if i should believe it or not. Is the ro water okay for the tank? I dont use deion resin. Also is it safe to drink?

This one is ro only water

Is the best way to raise the salinity in this case to add sodium chloride?

my refractometer reads 35ppt
And my swing arm reads 1.028 sg
But marinlabs reads 28ppt

The sample probably froze in the mail. Should i believe these results?

Thanks guys

Isn't the Aluminum at a fairly elevated level as well? Is that not a concern?

The RO water looks fine for the tank and for drinking.

Tank results look odd. Very high potassium and sulfate.

What are you dosing?

I used seachem vibrant sea salt to fill up the tank originally and havent done a water change yet. The potassium is very high for the vibrant sea.

The sulphur part im not sure why i boosted mag with mag chloride 90% and epsom salt 10% one time. Volume wise.

The only supplents i dose regularly are limewater. Stump remover.

Where are you getting stump remover in Alberta? I use Calciume Nitrate since there is no where to get potassium nitrate anywhere any longer.

I got mine from home depot. Cant remember the name but i can find it later for you.

The aluminum was likely from seachems phosgaurd i added a week before the test was sent.

Yeah I'd be curious to see what it is your dosing since they banned Potassium Nirate stump remover like 10 years ago in Canada.

Really? Thats concerning. I bought it less than 6 months ago. Let me see if i can find a pic.

The vibrant is the source of the potassium, and probably the sulfate.

This is exactly what i bought

I don't know the salinity explanation. If you have not, I'd double check the salinity with a 35 ptp standard.

Ive made your salinity standard. It read 35ppt a year ago.Maybe i should buy a standard.

Is their math correct for the salinity? Sodium is low right, shouldnt i boost that? And lower sulphur.

Provably i should do a huge water change with instant ocean?

Does it say potassium nitrate on the bottle? I very much doubt it is, it's a banned product in Canada. I would really not be dosing that into your tank.

Iirc yes it did say potassium nitrate.
