Maroon clowns...is this normal behavior?

Very good behavior. That is the male being submissive and basically turning in his man card lol.
I love maroons. I have a pair of gold nuggets. Mine are very well behaved.

Maroons are not kind genus of clown and can be territorial and aggressive and in time will be going after your hand and biting it while you are trying to clean glass or move something around.

Welcome to R2R!! ;Bookworm I’m glad they’ve settled down, my input at the beginning of reading this thread was that they probably would and that the torch would be fine as well, probably just not used to having fish interact with it yet. My bubble tip and torch seem to inflate, deflate, look happy/unhappy, with no logic or reason and always spring right back within hours/days, so I usually don’t stress them unless things definitely look bad for an extended period. I know the “bubbles” in the bubble tips are more desirable and sometimes we get lucky and they stay that way, other times they become stringy and stay that way. Regardless, I think your BTA looks awesome and it’s great that it’s hosting the clowns together! :)
