Pretty self explanatory haha. I have a 150 coming next week and wanted to know what you guys think of them. Any tips on setup? Anything you've seen that I may need to be aware of? Whatever info you have, pass it on please.

I have a 130 in a barebottom frag tank, and a 150 in 90g with a shallow sand bed. They both work great, but if I turn the 150 up too much, it redistributes my sand bed. The 130 I can run on full blast when needed. Aesthetics are great. I just wish I didn't have a sand bed now, lol

I have had mine for about 9 months and love it. I have it all by itself in my 5ft long 125g and don't run it past 6o% on pulse mode

I set up the 150 in my Elos 120xl back in November and love it. It usually runs at a constant speed of about 55-60%, although I do switch it up at times. With the 150, no need for any other pump in my tank. Definitely worth the investment, IMO.

Great. I see a review here and there that's negative but I'm like a little kid waiting on this thing to come. Any tips on placement? Up high or down low? I have a 150 deep dimension so it's 4 ft long but deeper than usual.

Im running a gyre on my tank, been using one since they were released and i wouldnt give it up for anything. Im thinking about picking up another one actually. Now for placement, im running a 150 DD as well, 4 ft long, 28 inches tall. I have it right near the top on the left facing the right. I've probably put it in 10 different spots in my tank trying to see what works best and the way i have it seemed to work the best for me

I have a standard 120g and seldom run the 150 above 50%. If I don't clean it enough I will turn it up to 60%. Right after a cleaning it's set at 30 or 40%. While the single pump provides plenty of flow I would like a second pump to give opposing action and to catch the few dead spots. I'm waiting for the promised stand alone advanced controller to work with two pumps. I think pretty much everyone puts it near the surface to get the gyre effect. Works for me. Reverse flow is worthless IME. I also got one of the first. Controller and the motor have been replaced under warranty. Bugs are all worked out now. Customer service has been great.

I have 2 x 150 on my Elos System 120. Really like them. Great flow, no noise.
I do run them in the so called "alternate Gyre mode". One pump pushes the water forward for 5 minutes while the other runs in reverse mode (water is not pushed forwards but downward). After 5 minutes they run opposite. This gives me optimal flow in both directions.
As I have running2 I guess for this size of tank 2 x 130 would have been plenty. Running the 150's at full speed is almost impossible.

I have two 150s on my 210. I have them set at opposite ends and now control them via Icecap module on my Apex (alternating pumps and varying speed). Even on a 6 foot tank I don't run 100% or I sometimes push water out the other side. Mine are both dead silent up to 80% then a faint hum if I am right next to them above that. The two 150s have replaced 3 MP40s and a Tunze. I honestly feel as if the flow is much better now and I don't have nearly as many dead spots. I've noticed that the SPS in front of the 150s are happy and I don't worry about them stripping the flesh off.

I have a deep 150g and seldom run the 150 above 40%. When it needs cleaning it will have to be increased . Right after a cleaning I go back to 40%. While the single pump provides plenty of flow I still two korolas catch the dead spots. Cleaning is a pain thou

Could you please tell me more about how the Apex controls the 150's via icecap? I am setting up my tank soon and deciding on MP40's or 150's but I like how the MP's can be controlled by an Apex.

They work the same way. You can control the power of them and if they pulse or not. How often they pulse etc..

I was going to order 2 for myself but waiting for them to get back in stock

Great pump I've had mine for about a month. I have a 200 dd this one pump replaced 2 mp40's. All I can say is super quiet and super strong;-)

Is there a certain reason why? I have a 4 ft 150 gallon tank if it helps you visualize how flow will be.
Better gyre flow i think when its horizontal, i have them on both sides facing each other, once the icecaps come back in stock, ill have them go back and forth so i get great flow in the whole tank
