Maxspect razor/P series vs. AI Vega

Mazarra P user here, I currently have 2 modules over my 75 gallon reef I purchased used from a fellow reefer her and they are wonderful.<br>

In the picture i was playing around with the positioning which is why you some dark spots but it covers the whole tank without any issues and the corals are loving it.

If you're going with the Mazzura you might want to wait. The new Z series comes out this fall. Currently the newer razor outperforms the P-series but the Z series will fix that.
I'm starting a new tank and am going to try my hand at coral. I'm torn between these to companies. I would love to hear some input. Anyone one with person experience please comment. Thanks.

kingofpain86 have you thought about an kessil a350w/a360w? Both of the are really very good lights and they were designed to penetrate deep tanks...

I have vega colors over my 140 custom cube and love them. It's 26 inches deep and I have to turn them down to keep from bleaching corals on the sand bed. Can't beet them for controllability and the custom picks are finally available so I will be able to add some uv or violet to them to get the lower spectrum covered. I believe they will be taking custom orders for fixtures as well but not positive.

Kessil is awesome!! A pair of the 360s would be quite nice!! Had I been able to afford a pair I'd've chosen them over my razor but I've ended up loving my razor so it all worked out, but kessil is a VERY good company with stellar CS!!

Mazzarras just don't seem to cover enough area for the price per unit.

I JUST bought the Maxspect Razor... Obviously dont have any growth or coloration advice yet but it lights my 29 bio with a ton of light. Ill consider putting them above the 180g after I see the growth in this tank.

I have 4 over my 120. I don't keep much SPS but everything has been doing well about 1.5 years.

Hey RB, what settings are you running on them?

I bought mine used and would like to make some changes to it.

Does anyone with SPS have a conclusion on how well the Maxspect does with SPS corals? Growth, color, so on and so forth?

Specifically with my halide i had a piece of bonsai acro that was near death. All conditions remaining the same except lighting with the razor the bonsai bounced back. Hasn't been long enough to see real growth but coloring has been remarkable and my acro, stylophora, milli all are in terrific health. I still have my halides and if I believed for a moment they'd be better off I'd switch back without hesitation.
