To submit to a background or not. How did you answer this question. And why and what color.

EDIT- guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and assume you're asking what color for the back of your tank and why.

You are right. It's odd, when I set up the aquarium, I new I wanted a background. Once I set it up, I became unsure. I like the idea of hiding the algae. Nice call!

I second the black background. I have a few AIOs that always have black plexi my only non aio was against a white wall and it wasn’t very aesthetically pleasing lol

Just cut up blue sheets yesterday to put behind my hospital tank and quarantine tank.
This is plastic corrugated board that works great.

black is nice but blue is better ...haah i think it all depend on the look you are going for.
but blue make me happier it feels brighter. but black does make the colors "pop" a bit more.

some ppl do a frosted background then leds strip ights to give a sunset sun rise effect.
then some ppl like it clear. looks good if you have a nice wall and keep the back CLEAN not my cup of tea tho.

I've also got black on the back of my tank but scraping coraline algae off the back glass is a one of my least favorite maintenance chores. For my next tank I'll create some kind of faux rockwork backround.

clear for me, I get paranoid when I don't see a fish for a while so I can go behind the tank and see its just sleeping
