May I check your background?

Great answers! As you know, my 55 gallon is only 12 inches deep. Clear gives it more depth, but the rock, etc fade into the color of the wall. The idea of creating a "faux" background is interesting. Something along the lines of faux painting. Problem is, I have no talent for this,ha.

If you can, a pic would be cool.
Pretty barren after a power outage took out a bunch of corals so I had to take out the liverock it was on, but here ya go.

Painted the back Gloss black. Hides algae better :)

What, no glitter? :$ :)

As far as a “background check” you can ask my cell mate. He can vouch for me.

Black and blue are the two classic backgrounds. I like to see through things so I’m clear.

I like blue. Example below. Plastic wrap maybe it's called, not sure. Thin layer that you put on with the help of soap water. And it's possible to remove.

And if you don't put the tank too close the the wall, you'll be able to use a magnet cleaner to clean the back wall too (really don't like algae on the windows.. :D ).

Since I didn't do it before I set my tank up....and it's too close to the wall to do now, I bought some flat black poster board from Hobby Lobby and cut to fit. It's held in place with some Scotch tape at the corners. Works well for me.

Haha, as they said in ShawShank Redemption, “we’er all innocent in here.”
