Here’s some more pictures! They seem to be settling in good, they’re both very inquisitive and hungry! They had a small squabble the first night but seem to have worked things out. It’s so fun to watch them - they’ll skip barnacle to barnacle, eyes looking in different directions.

Trying to decide if I want to add coral or just have a fowlr... the rockwork and barnacles look great by themselves and I don’t want to take away from them. But a couple mushrooms might add a pop of color. Thoughts?

@VKP01 is that genuine lock line and what size is it on the back? I am just starting my build thread for the peninsula 3.8-gallon version of this tank but don't have the tank yet.

Yes, it’s a single segment of 1/2in loc line that came with the tank

Here’s a closeup video of the barnacle blennies! Their eyes can turn different directions, which makes them pretty fun to watch ;Joyful

Going through some ugly phases right now, but still going! Within the last week I added a couple mushrooms and some snake polyps, as well as a few more nerite snails. I’ve been getting cyano, which I’m guessing is from an imbalance with nitrate and phosphate. Haven’t tested phosphate yet, but nitrate was zero, so I’m going to see what’s going on there and try to raise it some.

This tank currently has the JBJ pico light, which has done ok but the corals are stretching for more light. I got the tertial work lamp from IKEA (8$), and I’ve just ordered the ABI Par38 Tuna Blue (25$). I’ve heard really good things about the ABI light, but I think personally it may be too blue for my taste, so I’m considering ordering a Luxbird full spectrum par38 if I’m too unhappy with the color on this one. It should be set up by the end of this week!

As you probably gathered from the edited title, I’m heading off the college soon - and I intend to take my tank with me.

I haven’t been able to speak with my college about their animal policy yet, but most will allow a ten gallon tank in their dorms. That’s what we’re holding out for. Assuming that works out, this tank will be moving the whole nine hours with me...
I have five others who won’t be so lucky, so let’s hope this one works out.
