Well it's time to do some upgrading from my current 55. I haven't been around here too long but I'd like to start a thread to show my progress so feel free to follow along! I'm very excited to say I will be picking up my 210 gallon Aqueon RR tank this weekend. Its a little rough and needs to be resealed but I'm up for the job. I plan on doing and lot of DIY (stand and acrylic sump). I will post more details in the coming days. Looking forward to suggestions and comments from my fellow reefers!

Just to pass some time, here are a few pictures of my 55. The camera I have definitely isn't the greatest but it works lol. I really hate the space limitations in this tank which is why I decided to just go with a 210.

I went and picked up the tank today. I got it home and began to prep for resealing the tank and man was it a job. For anyone wanting to know about sealing a RR tank the overflows are a BIG pain in the rear to get off, especially when the tank just shy of 30 inches deep. I estimate that I removed 75-80% of the silicone out of the tank and hopefully I will get the rest tomorrow. My hand feels like its about to fall off! I'll be soaking the overflows tomorrow as well, they have a ton of build-up in them that needs to be removed. I took some pictures that I may upload later tonight.

Here are a few pictures. Sorry the tank is vertical I had to stand up in it to make it easier to remove the silicone :xd:.

I managed to remove all of the silicone today and started working on cleaning the overflows which have a ton of sand and build-up in them. It will probably be a few weeks until I finish resealing and start work on the stand.

Just wanted to give a quick update. The tank is resealed and I've been working on the stand which should be finished tomorrow. I'm now starting to gather everything I need to set it up. I picked up an Eshopps S-300 Cone Skimmer (HUGE) today as well as 150lbs of Key Largo rock which will be in addition to the 60lbs of live rock I have in my tank now. I'll have some pics of the stand tomorrow hopefully. I'm ordering 3 DM-155e from Reef Radiance as well as 2 Jebao WP-40s. Also ordering an Apex Controller which I can't wait to get my hands on!

Thanks. The acan is definitely one of my favorites and lately its been growing like crazy. I'm really looking forward to seeing what its going to look like under the LEDs.

The mailman brought some sand for me today and hopefully she doesn't hate me too much. I would like to thank MarcoRocks for their lightning fast shipping. I went with the coarse Bahamas aragonite sand. Some other goodies with be arriving Tuesday from BRS!

Just wanted to post a quick update. I've been working non-stop on the stand and its a lot more work than I imagined. We've managed to get most of it done except the doors and the skin. Here are a few pics before we put the Gloss Marine finish on. I went with Golden Oak stain.

The tank is also fully resealed. I water tested it and there were ZERO leaks!

I also picked up some frags today. JF Jack O'Lantern, Red Planet and a Blue Tip Stag. Pics inc soon .

Here are some pics as promised. They aren't the best until I can invest in a decent camera. Hope to have the 210 up and running in 2 weeks!

Nice find on the 210g you'll absolutely love the extra real estate to play with. This is turning into a great build thread as well, you have some nice equipment/material already to so will be following along.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks Todd. I'm really itching to get this set up as soon as possible. My main issue right now is finding the space to make 200 gallons of water.
