Merc's 210 Mixed Reef

Ok so I've gotten a lot accomplished this weekend. Stand and tank are in place and everything is mounted and almost where it needs to be minus the lights. I still have some work to do with getting them straight. Tank will be wet in about 5 minutes I'm just letting the saltwater mix a little more. Tank should be fully operational in about 1-2 days! Here are some pics!

Tank is about half full now. Had to make a trip to Tampa for some more DI Resin so that set me back a bit. But I picked up some corals. A Dendro and ORA Strawberry Shortcake!

So I know I haven't updated in a while. Things were going good for the first couple of weeks with the new tank. Then 2 days ago I started noticing some of my fish acting strange. And then yesterday the ich outbreak began. I introduced a new Orange Shoulder tang (without quarantine obviously) and now I'm facing losing all of my fish. Only my Lawnmower Blenny and Banggai Cardinal seem unaffected. All my fish are all literally covered in white spots EVERYWHERE. I set up my old 55 for a hospital/quarantine, but now I'm going to have to tear down my whole tank to catch most of my fish. I just want to say to whoever reads this, don't make my mistake. I was arrogant and thought that "Ich won't happen to me. I keep my fish happy, tank stocked well, and parameters perfect. How could I possibly have an outbreak." Well I was dead wrong and the worst part is having to look at my fish suffering and knowing that its all my fault. Hopefully I'll have the hospital tank set up by Friday which isn't soon enough. I just hope that someone reading this will take the time to listen to everyone else and quarantine EVERYTHING that you put in your DT. I don't know whats going to happen. Most of my fish look really really bad and on death's door. I refuse to give up though and hope that someone else can learn from this as I did.

Anther quick update. All of my fish were placed into QT 8 days ago. Out of 11 fish I only have 4 left. I'm now leaning more towards a velvet outbreak because some of the fish seemed to die very quickly. Most were swimming erratically and bobbing at the top of the water for air. As soon as that started happening they died less than 12 hours later.

Remaining Fish:
Cubicus Boxfish
Lawnmower Blenny
Clown Goby
Firefish

Dead:
Mandarin
Hippo Tang
Naso Tang
Orange Shoulder Tang
Sleeper Goby
Harlequin Tuskfish
Clownfish

I will continue to use Cupramine for another 3 weeks and then do a dose of Prazipro just to be on the safe side. I'm going to leave the DT fallow for 8-9 weeks just to make sure anything is gone. Then its time to rebuild.

On the plus side my corals are doing amazing. The coloration and growth I'm getting from the LEDS is great. I'll try and post some pics when I get spare time.

Hope everything is going better man!

Thanks I really appreciate it. I kind of lost interest in my build thread since everything went wrong but I think its time to start updating again. I recently moved some more fish from quarantine. Current Stock is:

Blue Hippo
Purple Tang
Blue Throat Trigger
Harlequin Tusk (Juvenile)
Cubicus Boxfish
Lawnmower Blenny
Firefish
Green Clown Goby

Corals are doing great. Its turned into a mainly SPS reef but I still remain a Zoa fanatic as well. It is very hard to take pictures under the LEDs especially with just my phone. I'm going to post some up and try and get photoshop and see if that helps any with the clarity. Enjoy!

This is just a side shot I took the other day and thought it was neat. I'm working on getting some filters so I can take better pictures with my phone. (Don't mind the nori clip!)

So I know its been ages since I posted any updates. I recently got an awesome camera for my birthday so I'm going to try and post some pictures in the next few days or so. I've also gotten a bunch more fish/corals since my last post. I will post an updated list of livestock and equipment sometime this week. In the meantime here are a few pictures I took messing around with the camera :).
