Merediths 75g upgrade

I love the way your rock is setup, great scape!

Oh thanks so much! I'm not 100% happy with it, but that's just because I LOVED the way it was before. This way is growing on me little by little.

I took apart the broken 75 gallon tonight. Well, more accurately my husband did most of the work. I helped though :) Here are pictures of how we did it. Please ignore the mess of our garage. Its about that time of year that we clean it and reorganize.
Taking off the trim was a bear.

The trim is off, now to take off the panels.

This was not as easy as it seems from the pictures. It took a lot of work and an hour or so. I used an applicator (which you see in one of the pictures) with acetone in it to help loosen up the joints as richard cut them, or maybe it just lubricated the blade. But it did help. In the second to last picture you'll see the broken panel. We did salvage it and I plan to use what i can from it. I'll draw up my plans for the frag tank and post them up. Maybe one of yall can point out any flaws for me.

Best of luck! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Thanks! I may have a guy who will cut the pieces for me as a favor. But I'm not betting on him.... it could take several months for him to get around to it and I'm not patient enough for that. We shall see.

I just read it using a mirror.

I'm going to New York the day after Christmas! Can you recommend some cool places a fish nut like me would want to see?

There is only one fish place in Manhattan that I know of and I am not impressed by it. There may be others, but I don't know them. Where in New York will you be going? If you will be coming to Long Island I can show you the best (IMO) places. But you are probably going to Manhattan to do the tourist thing with Rock Center and the tree and all that. I know you also don't want to go to the New York Aquarium (or the Coney Island Aquarium as we call it) as I am sure they have just as nice, or better ones in Dallas.

I'm not very familiar with the city, but when I was in NY I visited Manhattan aquariums. It was a pretty cool store and the employees were all very nice.

We are definitely doing tourist things. Broadway, rock center ect. Just figured I'd ask just in case there is something i just HAD to do while I'm there
