Merediths 75g upgrade

Not many fish places in Manhattan but I am sure you will be going to the 9/11 Memorial. If you do, realize it is very crowded and you won't get into the museum unless you want to spend your entire trip on line. But the rest of it is something to see.
Part of the Memorial

This is downtown, from my boat.

Meredith the absolute best thing to do in Manhattan is this
After you do the normal tourist things, do this. Even us New Yorkers love this. It is this bus, with one side glass and as it goes around the city. People (who work for the thing but you don't know it) start performing in the street. It is extreamly cool. Our friends took my wife on it last year and they had a blast.

Ok. That is just AMAZING! I"m going to have to tell my mom and sister. They'd love it too! Thanks for the tip!

Im slowly, VERY slowly getting my frag tank worked out. We got the rank pulled apart, as i think i already mentioned, and now i have a schematic drawn out on the bottom piece. What do you think? Im trying to figure out how to use glass for the baffles and back dividing piece and still be able to get the water back to the display. I have room for a pump, but do i need to drill a hole in the glass for the water to be pumped through? Like with a bulkhead and a return nozzle? Should i just use acrylic for the filtration area and make it easier on myself? I was wanting to use all glass since i already have it and minimize extra spending. Thoughts?

Forgot to add the pic

For the return you can always come over the top with loc line but it wont look as clean as if you drilled it with a bulk head. Also I have never used glass fr baffles but should not be an issue to make them out f glass just go slow. Only thing I would think would be difficult would be cutting the slots in the back pane as it will try to crack I would think. Again I have always just used acrylic but glass would look better IMO

Good Points!
I have a guy who might do the cuts for me. If I have to do it myself, I wont do slots, just a lower "dip" for the overflow. I agree it will look better with a bulkhead. Not sure if I'm going to do that just yet. I may just go with acrylic. I guess it depends on my time and money constraints when I get to it.

Found a huge bu dle of bubble algae in my overflow. Ugh. Now its time to get rid of it.

Sometimes I see free flowing bubble algae floating around with the current in my tank....i hate it. Good luck with the removal!

So how's it coming?

I haven't been able to get the supplies I need yet. I was messing around with it - because I'm the type of person who can't NOT touch- and a large piece broke off. lol so it's improved? :D

Hahaha, I have a bad habit of doing the same thing, especially when someone says don't touch.....It's like disease, I have to touch at that point:D

Heres what i broke off the big chunk growing on the inside of the overflow. Theres still way more! I gotta get some peroxide this week. I start working again next wednesday! Eek!

Wow and yuck, I can't believe that you have even more to remove!!!

It's weird cause I had it pretty bad before I broke the tank down to get the fish out. I made sure to get as much as I could find off the rocks while i had them out of the tank. Now it's just on my overflow! Of course it got this bad... I never look in there! I'm not too sure I mind so much since it's absorbing nutrients i dont want, but the thought of it spreading back into the DT again has me wanting to get rid of it all. I'll take pictures of how i do it and update after. Who knows? Maybe it wont be a total disaster lol

We can hope. Its ok if there's more somewhere... it's all just part of the game
