Might want to consider heat.... Chillers are $$, plus utility bills added up for me with halides. Have you considered reefbreeder lighting? I've had them on two tanks for a year now and they paid for themselves with my utility bill savings. Plus I got to sell the chillers. Tanks are thriving.

Yes, they are LED. Watching the sun go down and the moon come out right now on my tanks...

I got one set of leds 3 watts per led 55 leds 165 watt total plus im using 2 36 inch current orbit leds eith ramp lighting pro and the on top of that I got t5 vho 10 k bulbs but even with all that my tank did not look nothing like what the halides looked like in that guys tank I was blown away

I know people swear by LEDs I run halides switched to LED those only lasted 5weeks went back to my halides IMO halides are far superior

Yes, I like the look of mh too. I just couldn't deal with the heat issues for my situation. I'll bet they would be fine in a northern climate or basement situation. I'm in the southeast with high humidity and summer temps in the high 90s. Not a good fit for mh.

So, if you go mh, might consider a chiller too. It can be done of that's the way you want to go. Best of luck!
