from what ive read, I believe the wattage of mh depends on the depth of your tank. 18" and less go for a 150 watt, deeper than that I would go with a 250 watt

should but will probably need a new lamp/bulb within a few months... right now I have it over a 20g and it is plenty of light... I would use it in addition to some other light as well perhaps. I could throw in some CF actinics with ballasts (no mounts/fixture) that you could DIY hang alongside the MH or just use the MH to suppliment your existing lights
