We see growth pics all the time like those in tanks that don't bubble. What would be useful would be two tanks side by side, run the same except for bubbling, and then comparison of fragments of the same corals put into the tanks at the same time.Another comparison picture, this time of my Millipora
It would seem certain commentators on this forum clearly do not understand that this thread exists here in this format, solely to share my experiences and anecdotes on a methodology that is rapidly gaining ground, particularly in my home country.
I am not trying to sell anything or force a particular style of reef keeping on anyone. What ever works for you, stick with that and comment on the relevant threads elsewhere if you so wish.
Keep an open mind here, lest you be judged by certain people but then push on full steam ahead anyway
I'm all for scientific studies (being a scientist myself) and anecdotes are just that, so take them as you wish, but this hobby still floats on a sea of anecdotal information and that's what I'm trying to cut through in my own little way, however, at this point there will be no scientific study with all the controls and statistical analyses that entails, here!
I will post my anecdotal experiences here as often as I can, please post yours, if you wish
Nothing negative, just good vigorous growth and colour (but colour can also be caused by other variables).

We looked into getting some ceramic nozzles from Japan from a research company specialising in nano-bubble technology , but at $200 a pop, they were not in budget and you need a 400W pump to push through the system.

I then went to see a physics prof. about syntering some nozzles and he gave me that look that only physics profs can give

Personally I would bubble for a sustained period of time, however, feel free to try your method and see if you get any noticeable results and if you do, maybe switch to sustained for a few hours.

Thanks RandyI'm not sure why you are reacting so strongly to a very experienced aquarist who is just trying to get a clear picture of what the benefits might be, and suggesting that some comparisons could be more useful than a single tank. That is the essence of science, and that comment relates equally to every single method any of use use. He is not saying it doesn't provide a benefit, but is trying to clarify what results might be showing a benefit and what might not.
In any case, let's have everyone focus on the results, theories, and science of the method, and leave the personal comments out.

I know exactly who the commentator is and has now shown his true colours at the end, by calling me crazy, I find this comment to be deeply offensive to my character.
I have been trying to get the science part out and as a scientist have already devised the method that will be used for this experiment. I was merely pointing out the flaws in the commentators methodology.
All I'm trying to do is add to the knowledge pool in this hobby, something I think, we all can appreciate.
Let's move this hobby forward.
