I am looking for advise on a $50 or so microscope. I think I found an amscope on Amazon that would work. I thought I would see if anyone had suggestions on one, before I bought one.

Well, that is not what I wanted to hear. What do you need it for? I looked a lot at scopes and really can depend on type, photo, usage, etc. Most I found that were good for simple examination of fish scales, tail, fin, gills was minimum $200 or maybe a bit less.
All the "cheaper" ones were not worth it. However, I wanted a bifocal optical rather than a singular, so could affect pricing.

I ordered the phone mount and it leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe look into the cheaper cameras that you can use in the eyepieceI just wanted to follow up and share that I purchased this microscope and we have been so very happy with it. Next I will order a phone mount as it is hard for me to get pictures.
