Mike and Terry's 300g Reef

the replacement is probably not as big as the OG one but I'm sure it's pretty nice too. keep us posted.
Hmmm... If it's not, it is very close. He is beautiful - very alert and wanting to eat, LOL. I'll try to snap a couple of pics later after the halides come on.

Wow, looks awesome! Love those 8 lines.
Thanks Roni!

man! that's great to hear. I know that you grabbed one of the biggest ones. looking forward to seeing some pics/vids. ;)

Thought we'd share some pics of a few of our frag tank inhabitants:

Our acan experiment with the clowns worked in that they did "guard" the corals, it was not an ideal solution as the male is constantly sweeping the sand with his tail. The sand irritated the acans enough that they would not puff up. So, back to the frag tank...

Love our yellow coral bandid.

Male Bellae

This is not a very good pic, but it is difficult to get them both in the same frame.

I want/need a new DT cube, but Mike says "No more tanks!", LOL. :xd:

Come on Mike, Terry needs a new cube for Valentines day, LOL

Thanks Brett! and that's a fantastic idea, LOL!

whoa! the Bell's flashers are in the frag tank? but why? ;)

Yup, they are too small for the big tank... It became obvious when I had to peel the female off of the overflow box twice which was after I moved her back to the acclimation box for a week to fatten her up, LOL. There is a lot of flow in our DT, especially in the upper 1/3 of the tank. Unfortunately, that's where these little cuties want to be. They don't have enough sense to hang out in the lower (calmer) areas.

In the frag tank, they get first dibs on all of the live food that passes over the partition from the refugium side of the tank and they LOVE it. We may consider moving them after they have matured and can handle the big tank, but for now they stay where they are, LOL

That Looks down right amazing!!! Great job Love the setup!!!!

Thank you Choptrucks for the compliment and for taking the time to post in our thread. We truly appreciate it!

Sweet looking frag tank!
Thank you Chris!

Sounds like a plan. I was gonna ask about them when I was checking out their vid on your YT account. Glad they are doig well though. :)

Thank you pmvalenti!

As an update, we thought we'd share some updated pics of the display:

how in the world are you getting these fish shots! lol

awesome M&T. you've got a great selection of fishes in there. I'm sure they're enjoying their space. what's the wrasse list in the DT? and is that a Kole tang with blue dots?

Lots of patience and perseverance... For every nice pic, there are a boat-load of bad ones, LOL! And it's funny, I normally start out trying to snap a few pics of a particular fish or two and for whatever reason, they don't feel like "posing" that day and I end up w/pics of something else entirely.

Thank you Marvin! We appreciate the compliment. Yes, that is our Kole's tang. His spots are more of a light grey in normal light, the tank lighting makes them pop more blue. He's a gorgeous specimen and we've had him for about 6 years now.

Here's a list of the wrasses in our DT:

(2) C. jordani (1 terminal, 1 subadult)
(1) C. rubrisquamis
(1) C. lineatus (subadult)
(3) M. bipartitus (1 terminal male, 2 females)
(1) M. kuiteri
(3) P. octotaenia females

We'll be adding 3 female rhomboids soon that have been hanging out in our QT for a while now.

We moved the trio of Rhomboid ladies to the acclimation box in our DT last night. Thought we'd share a few pics:

Hi guys very nice tank!, im actually picking up my first lineatus this week probably. any tricks or tips? :)

Thanks redemer123! Lineatus fairy wrasses, like most fairy's are fairly easy to take care of. We feed ours a variety of prepared foods. Their favorites are Hikari mysis, PE mysis, Hikari blood worms and NLS pellets (1mm size).

As with all fairy's they should be kept with peaceful tank mates and a tight fitting lid or 1/4" mesh screen over the tank is requiredas as they will jump. When introducing them to your display, an acclimation box works best as it gives everyone a chance to meet and get accustomed to one another w/out doing any damage.

Good luck. They are gorgeous fish.
