Mike and Terry's 300g Reef

Glad to help!

The acclimation box is an awesome idea, so simple and so effective. i wish I would have done that on many a fish I have introduced.

How lond do you keep them in the box?

Another question, roughly ( or exactly hehe) how many fish do you have?

I'm never had a big tank so when I said I had a lot (33 I think, 60% being small) to someone they laughed at me. IMO its more the real estate than the gallons and I'm full IMO

Very nice tank you got there that for sure!

beautiful tank....

Thank you endy0430!

Thanks for the compliment - we really appreciate it! It's been quite a journey for us to get to where we are today, LOL.

We keep new fish in the acclimation box anywhere from 2 to 5 days depending on the reaction of our other fish. Counting the Rhomboids, we have 31 fish in our DT and an additional 4 (including our Bell's pair) in our 75g prop tank/refugium.

I know you have probably answered this question somewhere in your thread before, but I would love to know what you are shooting your fish pic's with, and where your setting are you using to get such clear pic's of your fish, mainly aperture...I have been using a T2i for a while and just picked up a used mark 3, I was never able to get good pic's of my fish with my T2i so now I am loving that the mark 3 is crazy fast...any other tips you have used in the past that have helped improve your skills will help also...Thanks!!!

They are beautiful, glad to see them doing well.

Thank you Brett!

Very nice Mike and Terry. 31 fish now... You are catching up fast. LOL
Thanks Brad! We need to slow down, LOL. Gotta save some room for a couple of the "dream" fish.

beautiful tank
Thank you VB68!

We use a Nikon D300s. The Rhomboid pics were taken with a Tamron 90mm macro lens and the aperture was set to 3.5. You can click on any of the pictures to be redirected to the flickr site and you will see links to the right of the picture with something like "This picture was taken _____ using a Nikon D300s. Click on the Nikon D300s link and you will see the exact camera settings used.

I'm no expert by any means and end up taking a lot of pics to get a few that I'm happy with. Manual focus usually works best for me.

nice looking ladies. :)

I started with two small females a while back and they transitioned to male almost at the same time. LoL. one decided to start turning male and soon after the other one followed. they co existed fine for over a year. they would flash each other taking turns on who gives up. no one really dominated each other as my Supermale Lineatus would keep both of them in check. I don't seem to have good luck with pairings as I always end up having a male and sub male. same story for my HI Flames. ;)

good luck with your trios. :)

Thanks Marvin... our Flame wrasse pair ended up being a terminal male and sub-adult as well. And btw, our female Bell's has started to morph into a male as well, LOL.

Great pics, as always! Love those Rhomboids!

So beautiful!
