Mike's 150 Tall

I like cinnamon rolls. Forget the pie...
Well if that's the case, I just prefer food. Mostly steak. Rare with fresh horseradish.

I've never even tried mincemeat pie but it sounds nasty enough I'd be willing to try it.

I love all pie except pecan.
berry pies
strawberry rhubarb
sour cream apple with a crumble top
key lime
lemon meringue
do pasties count?

big regret growing up with my grandmother living with us,
never learned to make a flaky pie crust and she made the best.

My grandparents lived in Missouri. Anytime we would go to visit my grandma would have a pile of fresh, wild blackberries picked from the side of the barn (sometimes they were frozen since blackberries don't grow all year, I do know that :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:) that she'd make me a blackberry cobbler with. My all time favorite dessert - Grandma's homemade blackberry cobbler!

I leave for family night last evening and the discussion erupts here...
My parents have a bakery operated out of a licensed kitchen in their basement. It's called the "Braker's Dozen" (pun definitely intended) since our family surname is Braker and there are a dozen of us in my immediate family counting Dad, Mom, 9 siblings, and me. Sales are through private orders year-round or local farmers markets May through October.
I get to help with the work and learn some of the skills of the trade, though I have done more of the manual labor (loading boxes, hauling tables/tents/chairs/etc. for the market stall, helping with setup/sales/take-down at Saturday markets), so my baking skills are still minimal compared to my Mom and most siblings.

...not that I need the skills directly, since my primary job is taste-testing and cleaning up the "flops" any time.
Pies are great, but homemade doughnuts are at the very top notch!

Strawberry rhubarb pie is where it’s at. And I don’t usually like pie.
One of my top favorites as well, and I usually do like pie.

That's not my style... to each their own... im a classic apple pie all the way.
Classic apple is still my top favorite pie, which is nice because apples are readily available in my area.

I like cinnamon rolls. Forget the pie...
We've been told that cinnamon rolls from the "Braker's Dozen" are the best in the world, but we have not done the testing since we would seem biased. (I think they are the best)

Pies of almost all types are my favorite as well, including pecan. (I'll gladly skip coconut cream or banana cream pies)
Absolutely, pasties count!

I know what you mean about knowing a good baker and not needing the skills yourself. I'm still learning every chance I get, as my Mom and sister make the most excellent pies!

How long until you put plants in the ground?
cold weather plant seeds next month if I can get the other raised bed finished.
radishes, onions, carrots, beets, bok choy and lettuce.
plants that are in the vid are all after the last frost. memorial day weekend.
