Okay so this week I'm switching salts and I did go with the tropic Marin pro. The base readings that I'm getting from this it has an elk of eight dkh and a pH of 8.1. if I could switch all of my water over within the next two weeks to these parameters my tank parameters will be where I want them to be.

I have been trying to mess around with kalkwasser and today I won a tunze osmolator with the kalk stir and bucket I am so freaking excited about this. So I'm going to revisit the kalkwasser to try to get my pH maintained at 8.2 8.3 as long as my alk doesn't go through the roof again. I've been slowly bringing down my alkalinity all week long last week when I added the kalkwasserr it shot up to 14.5 now this morning I checked it it was down to 12.3 and I'm going to keep lowering it slowly to get down to 10 or 11

Great tank and thanks for going through the effort of the build thread for the benefit of others! I was wondering how your ph battle has been going? Have you restarted kalkwasser and have you switched salts?

I have switched salt to tropic marine and have been using the cows washer now for a couple weeks. It seemed to have work really really well pH is being maintained about 8.15 sometimes it does go up to 8.21 but right now it's maintaining higher and alkalinity is staying right at 10.5 things are going great. But I'm about to post something else now I had a big huge crash 80% of my tank is now dead but it doesn't have to do with the cows washer or pH

Well rebuilding after my crash is starting to make some progress. And you can see I did grab a couple of frags over the past two weeks and added them to the tank now. Since switching my salt and winning the ATO and kalk stirrer. I finally got my pH straightened out where I've been maintaining it at 8.12 at all times
