@FireEMT any idea how to upload it on here?
You should just be able to "upload a file", I've never tried a doc before but thats how you attach pics.

Yeah I had to upload it as a google doc and copy and past the accessible URl hope it works. The link is in the last comment.

No I haven't started one up yet still deciding on doing a 120 or 150 but I'll be putting it together around the first of the year

Thanks for all the info, its been really nice to be able to follow your build since we are around the same point. I'm really happy to see that the dreaded bulkhead issue was resolved. I would love to be able to place everything in the basement like you have but I will have to make the sump area under the tank work. I will be watching to see what you do with livestock and corals since you have experience and I have none. Thanks again

Your filtration and setup under the tank is like a work of art! :) I only hope mine comes out looking as neat and organized as yours. Glad I can help...I'm still learning everyday about new things in this hobby. I guess that's what keeps it interesting...LOTS to learn!

Its been 48 hrs since adding Dr Tim's One and Only, so far there is 0 Ammonia and 1.0 Nitrites but they are coming down. I will test again tomorrow and see if its time to add more ammonia. If it drops below .5 Nitrites Ill add more of the Ammonia from Dr Tim's. The tank has completely cleared up and I tested phosphates last night. The Phosphates were at .1 so I started up the GFO and the Carbon reactor today, so far so good I guess. I also went to the LFS today and looked for some fish, didn't have what I was looking for but will get some soon to start QT. Tomorrow is Christmas morning for us since my wife and I both work Christmas day. Merry Christmas everyone.

Wow. This is one of those build that makes you say "I-shoulda-done-that"

Very nice setup.

Dr.Tim's is legit. I've used it on my last 2 systems. New Marco mined rock and sand, Dr.Tim's, 24 hours later transferred my mixed reef and fish and I haven't lost a thing. Love the stuff.

I'll be taggin along & Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Ive had the same experience. Love Dr. Tims! I am going to try the instant ocean bio-spira with my next build to see if I can save some money but I hope it doesn't come back to bite me. Still looking good.

Dr Tims was super cheap, they had a killer deal on Prime. 8oz for 24 bucks which is good up to 120 gallons.

Dr. Tims?
Dr. Tim's I got from Amazon and the Pukani I got from BRS. I soaked the Pukani in a heated and circulated Brute can for around 2 months to hopefully help with the phosphates.
oh got ya. Hats off to your setup it is looking good!

I just dosed the third dose of ammonia. So far it takes around 3 days to have low readings of Nitrite but today was the first time there were no traces of Nitrites when tested. I hoping for low to 0 Nitrites after 24hrs or so this go around.
Four days ago I purchased two Clowns and a Yellow Watchman Gobbie. They are in the QT tank right now and I just treated them with Prazi. I was told from the LFS that all three had been in their tanks for almost a month and they had already been treated with CP. All three look great and they all eat very well. I am thinking about not treating with Copper and just watching them for awhile longer. What does everyone think about doing that?
I also need a pump to move new SW to the tank from the garage which is around 30ft away. I was going to purchase a cheap submersible pump and connect the tubing from the 50' python water change kit. Does anyone have experience with this and if so what size pump do you use. Thanks again for any information you can share and so far things are moving along slowly but as expected.

I'm just sitting here staring at my tank and I just can't wait to add my fish from the QT tank. The fish are doing great, they have finished their Prazi treatment. I am going to let them hang out in the QT tank another 4 days and then I will transfer them into the DT, just as long as they don't show any signs of disease.

I was wondering if anyone out there has a good 12hr schedule to share for their Kessils. I have mine set right now but I am totally guessing. If anyone wants to chime in and give me advice I would really appreciate it.

I just placed another order from BRS for the 50' python water changing kit and a cheap pump so that I can pump water from the garage to the tank for water changes. I want to be able to make the NSW in the garage and not have to transport buckets of water so I figured this will work without being able to automate it.

So far so good, I haven't done a water change yet but will do one before adding the fish. I tested the nitrates and phosphates a couple days ago and they were a little high but I kind of expected that since the tank is new. I am a little curious when the algae bloom is coming since it seems inevitable. I haven't seen a sign of it yet but I have also had the lights off the whole time until today.

Thanks again for the great community on this forum and any advice or words of wisdom is very welcome

I haven't heard from anyone about the light schedule, still hoping someone has something they could share.

So I added the two clowns and the yellow gobie to the DT tank yesterday. I'm curious, is it normal to have them chase there reflection the entire time. I tried feeding them and they didn't even eat. All they care about is looking at themselves in the glass.
