Mistakes/Regrets of 2018?

xaflatoonx oh it is, however I didn’t do a good enough job rinsing and so putting them back into my main display tank killed a few things- which is totally unfortunate but def. a learning lesson

Purchased a used 125 tank and stand with quite a bit of extras. Inspected all four sides and seams very closely. It sat empty next to my existing tank while I got the rest of stuff together. Almost 6 months later I'm working on plumbing, and notice what looks like mini shotgun blasts in the bottom glass. Looked like someone set it on gravel. There was a little bit of sand in the bottom when I bought it, and I was so focused on the seams and everything else I just completely missed it, and was really bummed. At least I caught it before I put water in. Good news is my wife is amazing, and a week later we found a different 125 and a better stand, which is now plumbed to my basement. No more hauling water up the stairs for me!
