Mobius to G5 comnection issues

I’m having trouble connecting to my XR30 G5 as well. Mobius says there is a firmware update, but every time I try to run it, I get a “Request Timed Out” error.

I had this same issue on mine I deleted the app and reinstalled although mine looked to be updated the new install looked different and all my issues went away.

G5's have wifi capability, you just need to use it. I have 5 XR15 G5 Blues, along with several other things on mobius. I have found that the Wifi works better on the lights.

How do you do this? Is it through Mobius?

Update, it was a hardware issue with three of my lights. Called Ecotech and we are currently replacing them.

What was the hardware issue did they say?

Once you updated thru Mobius it was available on G5 lights. You turn it on thru Mobius.

Strange my up to date G5 lights with mobius does not show that at all.

I'm guessing wifi is only available to later model G5 lights. I got mine early last year and even after updating them it isn't available. I'm sure G6 now has it too.

So, what I would suggest is calling Ecotech customer service, and ask maybe it’s a simple thing they can force though for you..

My second G5 Pro has the problem with a ? As part of the serial number in Mobius. A few months ago Ecotech replaced another G5 with the same issue. I wonder if they have a known bad batch of chips that went into some of these lights.

I had one of my three g5's with a corrupted serial number they replaced mine. I called and asked about wifi it was available for Beta for select people, they would not add me to the list.

I am having the same problem.....can't getting the G5's to connect to the APP. I had one replaced already due to this but even that one is sporadically connecting......

I was in the middle of an acclimation period and have one light thats a different intensity than the other two. Really disappointing for such costly lights.

Honestly, if there was an 8-bulb T5 fixture available right now I'd buy one just for the lack of hassle.
