I cleaned the back wall of my tank yesterday during a water change. A guy started a thread about it and showed (IMO) how much better it looked. I agreed and decided to do it, too.
While I did have some coralline algae growing on the back wall, about 2/3s of it was a thin film of green/brown algae. I also went over all of my rock and picked the algae off. Probably why i was always getting 0 phosphates when i tested for them. I also really cleaned the sand by siphoning. One of my hammers that hadn't been opening fully for several months, really opened up within an hour of this being completed.
I also threw in a bag of Chemi-pure elite in a high flow area to help with any phosphate. I really didn't want to run GFO in a reactor. I should have my results from the Triton ICP test early next week.

My ICP test was delivered this afternoon to Triton... hopefully, I'll get some results soon.
Ordered Hannah checkers: Alk, Cal, & Phosphorous--should have by end of week.
Looking for a single head doser. Not sure what I'll end up with, but i'm leaning towards the Kamoer X1 Pro wifi. It's a decent price at $90. The BT version is $60, but reviews suggest if power goes out, u need to manually reset it. No go if one is on vacation... and what's another $30 in this hobby. lol
I dose TMs All for Reef and figured it would be better to dose my daily amount over 24hrs versus all in one shot.
Really looking to push this tank to another level. I've spent thousands and thousands and it's time to bring it all together.

looks really good to me
It's the only thing it could be, if that. My two Reef Octopus wavemaker magnets look good. I have a small frag rack that's held on the side of the glass with a magnet. I guess it could be that.

Received my Alk and Cal Hannah checker yesterday from BRS. My ultra low Hanna Phosphorous checker from Premium Aquatics (BRS didn't have them in stock at the time of ordering) has been on the Fed-x truck for delivery since thursday. Fed-x website say it's pending delivery and no date for delivery at this point.;Hilarious I can translate that statement from Fedx: it's lost/stolen and you're never getting it.;Hilarious
Ordered the Kamoer X1 Pro wifi dosing pump on 2/11 with an Icecap 1.5 litre dosing container. Should have it next week.
Will probably start a refugium with chaeto and a Kessil H80 light. It looks like a nice refugium light at a decent price of $129. Add another $99 for a wifi controller? Nope, if it were for my display tank I would absolutely have the controller, but for some chaeto, I'm going to use a wifi plug ($13) for control when the light comes on/off.

I got this torch a little less than a year ago. I believe it had only had 1 head, but maybe 2. It now has 8 heads. The picture doesn't show how well it has bloomed. Too bad my photo skills suck... it's a beautiful green with purple stalks. Either these things are really easy to grow, or I'm getting lucky. ;Hilarious
Here's a hammer I got for basically free. I needed another (I think) $15 to get free shipping, so threw this thing in there. It actually cost me less adding this hammer. It was just this stub that I thought was dead--it was the first coral i had ever gotten. It took off. Again, my photo skills lack. It has these beautiful blue tips with a neon green core. I probably have said something about this guy, but whatever.

One of the best shots I've gotten of my pintail wrasse. He never stops moving (typical wrasse) and always heads to the back of the tank when I show up with my phone/camera.

Doing a little testing of my water since Triton Lab results and getting my new Hannah checkers and Aquaforest Mag, and Nyos Nitrate.
Alkalinity (Hanna): 2/14 showed 9.8; 2/15 shows 9.9. Looks consistent.
Calcium (Hanna): 2/15: 458. Triton showed 473. Looks good and consistent.
Magnesium (AquaForest): 2/15: 1350. Triton showed 1349.
Nitrate (Nyos): 0. I can only assume the algae is soaking this up. Every test I have ever done with Red Sea for phosphate showed 0, too. Although, Triton showed .02. Unfortunately, at this point Fedx has lost my delivery of my ultra low phosphorous Hanna checker.
PH (Red Sea): 2/15 8.2. My ph has remained consistent for months at over 8 since adding the air line to my skimmer. Before that it ran around 7.8.
I've started dosing 15mls of 3% peroxide in morning before lights, and 15mls at night after lights have gone off. ScottR started a thread and it turned into a poll. He has had great results, as well as others. I'm dipping my toe in now. We'll see.
Algae isn't terrible, but it's not good and seems to be getting worse the longer my algae scrubber is up and running. It growing some algae but 2 months and not much. Probably the lights aren't strong enough. I am really considering starting a refugium, but it looks like getting hold of chaeto is tougher than winning the lottery. Maybe I should start thinking of a second career as a chaeto farmer. ;Hilarious

Great choice with getting a pintail. They are in my top few list. Wrasse like to stay along the back wall when it’s picture time.
