Montipora Cap, to chop or not?

I have a volleyball sized orangeish red Monti Cap and you may or may not have seen my pic's of it with a Maxima clam nestled inside of it. My problem with it is it is really starting to scroll and shade over the Maxima clam. So I can't make up my mind weather or not to chop it or move the clam. I like the way the clam's colors contrasts with the Monti, plus I don't like the way Monti's tend to bleach themselves out and get white underneath. Also If I chop it I have had troubles in the past with relocating frags to other people. I'm stuck on this decision so help me out!

Chop it!! When I see a clam nestled inside something like a coral in reminds me of how they are in the wild , completely covered besides their mantle !

Wack it. You could always sell the frags to the LFS for store credit. I need to get me some monti caps too, but trimming them is always best, they can get too big at times.

Chop it, then place the fragged portion on another area of the monti colony. It will reattach and graft itself back in. Within a few weeks it will look like you never even cut it.
