hi guys, my montis are stn.

I serched for nudis and nothing...

my parameters are:

po4:0.00 hanna
no3: 0 salifert
cal: 430 hanna
alk 9.4 hanna
mag 1300 salifert
light orphek atlantic v3.0 plus and kessil 360
par average on mintis was 600 and have reduced it to 360

1. nutrients should be readable to feed coral. PO4 at 0 and NO3 at 0 will starve everything. How long has it been at 0?
2. water movement??? has it changed?
3. what else is different in last few months? did you change salt?
4. are RO/DI filters old?

hi, thakx for the reply!
its been at 0 for 2 years, this started a few weeks ago. I did start to feed my corals more now, i feed 1-2 a week now almost every day. i used to relay on my fish for coral food

I added a bit more flow but nof front blast
i did have a large alk swing in october last year, it dropped to 4,9 bit it normaly fluctuates between 8 and 9,4

my ro/di is properly monitored, i replace filters as the system pressure drops

ohh and salt is the same 120g chenge every month at 1.026. I have had a few incidents where salinity drops a bit due to skimmer overflowing, but the max it has dropped is to 1.024

Well that rules a few things out. The alk swing was too long ago to think that it is the cause IMO. I am no expert, hoping others will chime in here. Maybe instability in tank?, maybe some ugly bugs? @Diesel #reefsquad maybe these guys can chime in.

My I suggest dropping the alk and bumping up the Mg

Curious if your alk has always been 9.4 with no measurable nutrients?

No3 and Po4 at 0.0 with ALK at 9.4 that swings up and down from 8 to 9.4 ain't a happy thing for corals.
Together with a par drop and a little swing in NSW level.
I suspect your ALK swing even though it was in October and this started a few weeks ago but was already in a ongoing stage.
Any new additions to the tank?
Temperature swing?
PH swing due to the winter period ( I see your in Colombia that might be not a issue but just asking )
What do you fed your corals and how did you prepare that?
Had any parties at your house? (not that I care but maybe somebody poured or dropped something in your tank).
Did you check all pumps on corrosion maybe?
No metal parts in the sump?
Do a check on you RODI and new saltwater mix before you put it in the tank.
ATO leakage, check your parameters on your ATO water.

I suspect the alk swing too! i run the DOS dosing pump and the apex container is too small, so I get a drop in cal and alk when ot runs out .Ill set up 2 5g buckets to hold the alk and cal.

the change in par was 2 days ago...

I do add a 1 or 2 frags every month or so, nothing mayor, temp holds stedy from 76 to 77.9

I have had ph swings from kalk dosing... it has jumped from 8.3 to 8.7 but only for a few minutes
I do run a calcium reactor, kalk and 2 part

no parties [emoji13][emoji13][emoji13], pumps are reeflo hammerheads, so no corrosion on those

Understand completely about the higher alk. Try the Mg then.
