Hey guys, heres a fish for you to diagnose..would this be lympho? The right eye looks to be to far gone, and a white glitch on the back fin.

Yes to lympho on the tail, but that eye looks bad. Probably needs some sort of antibiotics for that I would think.

I would think like a ruby bath, then add in Epsom salt to help with swelling and use metro to help the eye...

+1 Erythromycin + minocycline would be the best bet for an eye infection.

Maracyn contains erythromycin, or API makes E.M. Erythromycin.

Minocycline is getting much harder to come by. The only product I know that still contains it is Maracyn 2.

Erythromycin treats a broader range of eye infections than minocycline. But the latter covers a few gram negative strains that the former will not address.

The triple threat (Kanaplex + Furan-2 + Metroplex) might also be worth a shot in this situation.

That eye looks awful! Poor guy. Humble has you in good hands. I hope it pulls through!

A cyclops fish can do just fine. My powder brown tang has one eye and he thrives. You'd never know!

Its at a lfs but trying to debate on if i should see about a deal and treat it

The listed ingredients are "proprietary" which tells me nothing about the usefulness of the product: http://fritzaquatics.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/MaracynOxy-SDS-2014.pdf

But it seems like they are promoting it more as an anti-fungal, rather than an antibiotic; so it's probably more appropriate to use on FW fish/eggs with fungal infections.

Yes, you dose all 3 directly into a QT. You can mix with copper just fine.

Or are you asking how a MI will do in copper? I prefer to use CP on them, but a LFS I advise uses Coppersafe on them all the time.

What about using a qt that has had copper in it but replace 100% water and clean equipment to use cp on other fish?
