Moving pad - The perfect addition to your maintenance routine!

This would have saved me from some evil eyes a few times
Nothing like being mean mugged by the warden after spilling some salt water onto new wood floors hahaha
This made my morning!

I should note as it might be hard to tell in the photo, it's a full sized moving pad that I have folded in half. That is usually enough to soak up anything before if can get to the floor.

Well I guess mine is rather unique (I think) others may have done this before..
New house, new hardwood floors, new tank, new stand.
Moved into new build home so it obviously has new hardwood floor.
The boss (read wife) told me if I ever have another flood (had a couple in the old house) I could sleep in the tank because water was going away.
My answer became rather involved since I was building a new stand for the new tank.
Stand frame is built out of 1" thin wall tubing.
The skin of the tank is distressed oak hardwood flooring.
I am lining the entire inside of the skin with PVC so wood sees very little humidity.
With the threat I decided to put a 3" tall PVC pan inside the frame of the stand. The pan will have a 2" tall union which will allow flood water to over flow into a a PVC pipe (attached to the union) running into my crawl space. I have to admit I was surprised she said drilling a hole was OK, but she said as long as it was no larger than an electrical floor plate/cover would cover the hole if or when we sell the house she was OK with it. Somehow it seemed to me her mouth was saying one thing but the LOOK was saying another.
I took the mouth as real and LOOK as a figment of my imagination.
Stand should be done in the next few weeks and tank set up can begin.
With the new house build it's been over a year since I've had a tank. I'm going through withdrawals, but there is now light at the end of the tunnel.

Yeap...had my entire fish room ceremic tiled.......problem solved...lol
