MP40 wetside spinning and vibrating. will not stay on

Hello, I bought some USED mp40's and both of them vibrate like crazy and if they dont, the whole wetside just spins.
I was wondering if maybe my glass is too thick. Its a Waterbox 220 with 18mm thick glass.
One of them is pretty new and one is a bit older.

Did they give you the extra spacers with them? There are variable spacers that attach to the dryside. Is there a spacer on it now? If so you may be able to take it off. On that thickness it should be just the gasket on the dryside

Not sure if you are already doing this, but also make sure you attach the wetside and dryside together before turning the pumps on. If you try to connect the wetside after the dryside is already powered on, it normally will just vibrate and not spin correctly.

If you set the dryside down on a table and turn it on, it should not vibrate or make noise.

The dryside should only have a thin rubber piece on it. No plastic cup spacer.

You must attach the powerhead to the glass with a zip tie holder. Run the cable straight up, put the zip tie holder hear the top of the glass and then run the cord horizontally along the tank top.

The wetside should spin freely. If it does not, take it apart and inspect it. Just twist the top cage (be careful not to break the thin bars). Take note of the gasket between the cage and the base. Use a small flat screwdriver to detach the impeller part from the base (just unclip the 3 clips). Then gently slide it off the interior shaft. Ensure there is no debris. The white ceramic shaft should not be broken.

With the dryside off, mount it to the side of the tank. Then position the wetside on the inside. It needs to be aligned. Turn it on. If it is not aligned, it will make noise/ vibrate slightly.

Also, check the flatness of the wetside. If it's bowed out, it's probably rusted and nfg.

Yes, they come off, and looks like the middle size spacer. It looks like you need the thinnest spacer set for 1/2“+ glass, 19mm is the max MP40 can do.

Is the wetside flat? If not, it's rusted on the inside and toast.

Both are flat. Took the wetwide apart and it looks fine.
Magnets connect fine, made sure glass was clean.

Glass is clean. Wet wide connects to dry side well. Not sure what else I could do to make a stronger hold

I’d disassemble the wetside. If the prop doesn’t spin easily, it will cause the whole housing to spin. Also, could be a bad wetside, the magnet will swell and crack and sometimes cause this issue. If you can take a pic of the wetside magnet and post it someone may be able to tell.

If they are even the slightest out of alignment with each other they vill vibrate. You need to make micro adjustments with the 2 magnets and find the sweet spot.
