Multiple dwarf angels in one tank?

Majestics are generally easy to introduce, I introduced this guy without any acclimation boxes to my regal in my 4’ tank and he was fine, only fish that truly gave him grief was my twin spot bristletooth (which died in the transfer and I will probably never replace with another tang).

Good to know. I just find this guy so skittish, he has been better with the days and I guess seeing the rabbit fish stuff his face with food by going near me. I thought he will be better once there are more fish around. A regal will be so nice.

just thought I would update this for all the angels lovers out there.
for angels I had one bi color in the IM 200 peninsula FOWLR
just added 4 QTed angels to the mix
flame
flame back
coral beauty
emp.
I was some what worried about the bicolor as it had been in the tank for 6-8 weeks now.
but added the 4 above and all seems to be well.
the flame back is about half the size of the CB & bi and the flmae is somewhere in the middle.

the emp. is a juvi and doing it's own thing.
the Bi color is flashing a bit with some small chasing here and there but so far so good.

How many dwarf angels would you be willing to put in a 120 gallon tank?

that;s a hard call. guessing its a classic 4x2x2?
I am by no means an excerpt. just a week or so mixing them.

like everything in this hobby it all depends.
what else is going in the tank?
maybe 2-3 to spread out aggression? might get away with 4??

curious to see what others have to say.
if you do it let us know. :)

I'm starting a 120 gallon tank, it's 100cm x 100cm x 45cm. I was thinking about some dwarf angels and possibly some large angels, I want to have multibar angel as my main fish.

That sounds awesome! If I ever start up a bigger tank I'll probably start by trying to get a mutibar harem going. That's been one of my favorites so far. This picture from a few months ago.

There was some discussion on another forum whether multibars (Paracentropyge) form harems or pairs or what... I am not sure we know?

Reports were that the babys from biota were pretty aggressive, going after each other through the bag. Mine is definitely spunky as hell and has earned himself some nips on the tail fin for trying to slap others with it.

I am probably not going to add my flame angel to the tank the multibar is in... little dum dum may try and slap the flame and get a hard lesson.

That's interesting. Can't wait to find out more.

I had this pair along with a flame and coral beauty for over a year without problems… lost them to a tank seam splitting on a 300g tank.
I think there was ~70 fish at the time, including ~30 wrasses, and 2 or 3 Genicanthus angels.

Mines been with me two years but still much smaller than my flame. It’s captive. My wild caught flame would have no problem killing it if it wanted to is my concern.

They have both proven to be pretty fiesty.

I may try it once I make a divider to put in the tank to keep them separate for awhile or have an emergency way to separate them m but idk, I value the multibar more.

Sounds like an impressive collection of fish. Really sucks you lost it that way. I have acrylic because of worries like that.

My project is still far from starting, I have the tank but there are many things missing and I will probably make a compilation thread. It's also complicated to obtain Multibarred angel here in Mexico, I'm thinking of some more complicated angels for example Singapore angel, and some butterflies, however the quality of the fish is very bad here, this type of fish always arrived in bad conditions.

It was acrylic!!!!
All my tanks have been acrylic since 1988…will never go back to glass.
It split because of a freak explosion of my nearby well water tank being over pressurized and exploding.

Holy crap! That is definitely the most random thing a person could not prepare themselves for. I am glad you are okay. I guess that it was I takes to make an acrylic split.

thought I would update on my system I have 4 dwarfs and one large

crappy cell pone vid.

all are getting along just fine. tempted to add one or two more but dont want to push my luck...
