My 180 build.

Today has brought life to the tank. It is plumbed and got 210 gallons of total water volume. It's really cloudy today. Hope it gets better tomorrow. Then I will take a few pics.

Very nice DIY! Stand, tank and sump are all excellent! Will be following...

Thank you fin. Lights are the next project. Tank is going to be stagnant for a bit. Going to let it do as much of a cycle as possible. Maybe add cuc in feb. And possibly fish in March. Then start moving corals over. Then to sell the first set up.

Looks nice for a diy. But I see a problem in the top. Did you radius the corners? And what size? On the corners of the tank and sump did you chamfer it?
In time the sharp corner of the cutout will crack, just like in sheetmetal you don't have sharp corners (cut outs) or it'll crack. The corners on the sump and DT are sharp and will cut, especially the top of the corners-

There are radiuses in the top. No 90° corners. The top of the sumo has been shaved down to prevent sharp edges. And cuts.

Here it the tank. Mostly clear. Lights will most likely be done end of jan.

I've been so wanting a 180 since selling my 135 do to health issues with my daughter. Now that things are back in order and she wants her nemo back this build a has inspired me to either build or buy. So do you feel you have spent less money building the tank rather than buying a tank and stand?
Your build looks fantastic the stand looks really cool. Do you have any plans that you used for the stand?
Reef on!

Not exactly sure to be honest. I just happen to work at a place where we bought the acrylic for a project that got cancelled. So we had it laying around for a year. And I asked if I could use a couple pieces. Also the plywood and aluminum for the light grid. Was all more or less free. I only bought the glue to weld it all together and the trim for the stand.

But however. It was great to build it. With a little research. And patience. You can build your dream tank.

ok ladies and gentleman that have been following me... here is a current huge update..... please give me tons of feed back

All lights are run at about 40% off a storm controller. Until I update me reef keeper.

Next project is an auto top off container. And dosing containers.
