Well I must pay myself on the back... this is my first time ever plumbing a tank and sump. Not bad if I do say so myself. I decided to work on it a little bit today and got so involved I spent all day working on it.
I’m very happy with the results and found no matter how much you plan, it’s gonna change. I feel like I performed some good problem solving work arounds. Such as, I ended up having to have one of the drains go outside the back and then come back in as I did not have any room where I thought it was going to go. I think I’m going to add a few more unions in certain places just to make things easier with final installation and also if I ever need to take some things apart.

What do you guys think? Do you guys see anything that you would have done differently? I only added two accessory gate valves, 1 for my UV Sterilizer and 1 is just for an in case. My sump is designed so well I can’t imagine needing anything else but I did leave one gate for chance.

Are you going with an external protein skimmer? Looks like there’s no room in the sump, you may have already mentioned it but I’m too busy drooling lol

Haha we go to the same LFS, I saw your sump there (or at least a near identical one) that thing is awesome! huge and so well made. I can’t believe how long you have resisted filling this thing and putting in livestock. Very excited to see this finished.

I’d consider two return pumps. Eventually one will fail and having two gives you time to get the other one repaired or replaced.

Lovin the build but would make one suggestion. If you can upgrade the MPs to Quiet Drive it will make all the difference in the world. The difference is amazing.

Rhinorronics , I need to ask you is a Bashsea Sump worth the money [emoji384]? I am looking at a new sump upgrade for my build of my 75g . I am currently looking at a Bashsea Bio-Fuge 36in or a Bashsea Signature Series 36in Sump. I know yours is a signature series Custom , but are you completely happy with your purchase / investment on your Bashsea equipment?
