My 33 Long Frag Station Project

Started adding the trim wood today.
All trim is being applied with Liquid Nails so that there are no screw or nail holes.
After all trim is applied and sanded I will be staining it with a PolyStain in the Pecan shade.

Added the top and bottom face trim today.
I also picked up all of the pieces and parts to start the electrical wiring inside the stand.
I will have 2 set with 3 outlets each.
I will be adding 2 outlets on the wall behind the stand. Each on their own breaker.
That will give me 12 outlets inside the stand.
1/2 - T5's (Timer will cover 2 outlets)
3/4 - T5's (Timer will cover 2 outlets)
5 - PowerBrite LED's
6 - Heater
7 - Skimmer
8 - Return Pump
9 - Fuge Light
10 - Fuge Powerhead
11 - Frag Tank Powerhead
12 - Spare (Possibly a light inside the stand)

The trim work nears the end.
I will install a 1x10 on the underside of where the light hanging kits are and that will be the end of the trim work :bigsmile:

Then I will use wood putty to make it look the best I can. Sand it smooth and stain it with Mixwax PolyShade.

I assembled the electrical outlets that will be inside of the stand.
There are 3 outlet boxes on each power cord for a total of 12 outlets. Each power cord will be plugged into a GFI outlet on there own circuit breaker.

I installed brass hooks under each outlet for the cords to hang on.

I tried brass hooks under a tank once, rusted out in less than a month. Change them now while it is easy.

I need to find some plastic hooks and rethink the way they are attached.

I installed the very last piece of trim wood.

Tomorrow night will be the wood putty and start the sanding. I hate sanding :nerd:

I got all of the seams filled with wood filler tonight.
I will completely sand it on Friday and hope to get it stained this weekend.

I also removed the brass hooks that I had installed as cord hangers. Thanks for the advise ReeferRob.

No PIC's to post.
But I completely sanded the stand today.

I will get the first coat of MinWax PolyShade on tomorrow. It stains and adds a coat of polyurethane at the same time. 1 coat = Satin finish, 2 coats = Gloss finish.

Will post some new PIC's on Sunday.
