My 400 gallon Pred tank build

this was ten minutes after discovering that we couldn't fit the stand in the elevator or either stairwell.
So we had to take it apart outside right below my balcony)

basic stand complete. this shot was taken from my balcony door facing towards the kitchen

assembling the actual fishtank on top of the stand...he used 5/8th beveled glass that he precut and drilled at his workshop

the stand with outer panels on and painted, sump installed and plumbing hooked in

filling the tank...that rock is 150 pounds of dry rock,...the light fixture was just to illuminate for a picture as I have custom LED lighting installed in the canopy....also note that the doors are mounted and painted.

a shot of my sump...water comes in at the 2 back corners and goes over rock ruble and bio balls. it then flows to the large chamber on the left which will hold the protean skimmer... it then flows by mangrove and carbon bag before going through the strainer and into the pump to return to the main tank

a shot of the overflow...its of black glass which goes well with the entire back of the tank which we painted black)...also note that the inlet tube is 2 inch and has a hole drilled in the cap to prevent airlok

You have a 400g tank on a second floor? Is this an apartment or condo? Wow! Can't wait to see.

it is on a second floor apartment. in case anyone is now trying to do the math for this badboy i'll help you out)...

the stand empty is around 350 pounds...the tank empty was almost double that weight.

WITH water, rock, sump, misc equip, top canopy and lights, it weighs in at...just under 3800 pounds.
