My 560 Gallon Acro Oasis

First, amazing build. For the scape, I prefer multiple islands (2 or 3) that are off center and at different depths, heights, and sizes. You have the space and depth to create something with an interesting layout. Get creative with your scape! I'll be following along.

Yes definitely love the island look as well with 30" I could go pretty high, but I really like how the corals table out on a long low flat reef, I really like looking down the end, the 10' seems to go on forever! So I gave it a gentle slope up to try and conceal my 2" intake for the closed loop. I'm not 100% happy with the rock work yet, in fact I feel like I need more rock maybe 150-200 lbs more. There's 450lbs in there now just a little undesisive on what I plan to do.... I currently have 100+different types of mini colony's over in my other tank awaiting the transfer ....

Hey thanks a ton! The house has been a ton of work and I've done most of it by myself of course with the help of my bros as well... But the woodworking is my thing and I can't wait to finish off this stand and make it a really unique piece of furniture... With hand scraped oak and polished aluminum with rivites and distressing it should really kill it!

I think I would be in a lot of trouble if I went that big in the house. I need to finish a kitchen, dinning room, and the Miss. office and two bathrooms before I do anything else. If you do the stand anything like the chair, it going to be cool.

Hey sorry for the delay all my photobucket was not working for awhile so I have been holding off... Things have been slow because the tank fund has dwindled.... However I was able to get the sump drilled and the drains ran, I also rigged some temporary plumbing up to start cycling the tank... It has been almost a week now, I started to see diatoms forming but they let up, so I may need to feed more shrimp to the tank I put in some sea chem bacteria and about 2-3 cubes of mysis shrimp.... The last few days I have been building the canopy so I can get my lights up and start transferring some fish and hearty corals over.... Well on with the pics....

I still have a ton of plumbing to do add the closed loop and I may opt for a controllable return pump, dc or a red dragon speedy pump, I've always been pleased with there products just not sure if it will be worth it. I will definitely be running the hammerhead on the closed loop, I have one oceans motions 4 way, I may add another. I definitely wanna add some sea swirls one in each corner. Please chime in if u have one I'd like some feedback from people who have experience with them.... Well that's all for now I'll be finishing up canopy over the next few days .....

Subscribed! Tank design looks great. Looks like no drilling the bottom glass? If so, well done. Changing a leaking BH after five years would be easier on back panel for sure, especially in a sand bed setup.... My three BH's in overflow box, eliminated seals and siliconed in male sides as I saw in another build. Question on baffles, I am going from acrylic sump to 40 glass breeder for my sump and is 1/4 inch glass what you used? Did you prep edges or have polished? How did you address bottom corners of baffles where they touch silicone seal of bottom sump panel? Did you notch those seals and re-silicone?
