My 75 gal mixed reef

Just an update for anyone following. I have been running the mostly blues schedule for a few days now and I have not yet seen any difference in the previously pictured corals unfortunately. I wasn't expecting anything in this amount of time though anyone. The one monti digitata still does not have any PE and is bleaching. The chalice has shown some new bleaching spots. As an experiment I put a new frogspawn frag with two heads in the thank on the bottom. The polyp size is much more full than my other one which is good, and I haven't noticed anything in the color yet as far as losing it. I also put in a small red monti cap frag. So far I can't really tell much of anything with it. It has only been since Thursday.

So I've noticed that I have been doing a lot of stressing and complaining lately which has taken away from my enjoyment of my tank and this hobby. Mostly my wife has been letting me know :) well I decided to take a look at my tank tonight and just be thankful for how well it appears my softies are doing and how far some of them have come. I know, nothing difficult to achieve but its still nice to see them grow too. Here are some pics!

The one ric has split into three since I got it in the beginning of the year.

I got this GSP colony when it was the width of a softball or so. It is now larger than my hand.

Hey Ryan, everything looks great :) Did your RBTA split? I got one last spring, was in pretty bad shape when I got him, nursed him back to good health, now I have 8 clones lol. I've since set up a 30g AIO as a softie tank and moved the colony of nems to that tank. How are your corals that appeared to be bleaching? Everything doing better?

Hey Doug,

Thanks for taking a look! 8 clones!? That is awesome! My RBTA split a few months prior to the issues with my other corals. They have stayed small, but just regained their bulbs. When they split, they did not keep their bulbs. My SPS and acans still are not looking good. They have not regained their color and the PE is still minimal. I am still using the primarily blue schedule. I don't really know what else to do. I am hoping with time things will get better, but it may be too late.

Any change in that frogspawn? I know when I blazed my corals with the DIY fixture I built, it took awhile, but I didn't have any issues with my parameters, so to me, it was an easy assumption that my issue was light based. If the corals are holding to what they were 2 weeks ago and not progressively getting worse, it may just need more time, if they are getting worse, it could and likely is something else or a combination of things. You will get it figured out, mean time, like you said, just keep enjoying it and doing everything you can to keep things stable. I'm rooting for you and a quick turn around!

Also, I didn't really keep track of the time when my corals were bleached out, to their full recovery, but I know it was over a month, maybe longer. The reason I ask about the frogspawn is because he was very pale white during the period of too much light and when I reduced lighting, it seemed he was one of the first to respond positively and by the time he was fully colored again, the rest of the corals followed soon after. It was strange, it was almost like they were fine over night, but I know it was at least 60 days or so. Keep sharing, really curious what ends up happening. Take care!

Thanks for the input! The hammer is still pretty pale, but it has appeared to get some more color back. It has not regained any of the polyp size. It is still pretty thin. I also got a new frogspawn frag a week ago to see how it would react and it is holding strong with color and polyp size.

This guy has been around since the beginning of this tank. He keeps getting bigger.

Sorry didn't read all 10 pages of the thread. Do you still have the Condy? I'd had one for about a year and never again. Lived happily with a yellow tang I'd got around the same time. Then, a couple weeks ago found my tang in the Condy one morning. Pretty sure it munched 3 damsels over the year I had him. Also have a rose bubble tip that was stunted until the condy was returned to the LFS. I'm concentrating now in stock that comes from the same ocean.

I don't actually. I lost the Condy a while back. I think it had something to do with my lights that I was having trouble with at the time.
