My 80g reef tank - Sweden

Hi!

This is my first post here.

Tought I should share my tank to you, hope you enjoy it.

The tank is custom build whit mesures 100x60x50 cm
Whit 3 pipes, 2 down and one up.
Furniture is custom built whit the tank lowered 3cm down, to hide the sand.

The sump is 80x40x40.

Tecs: skimmer ati powercone 200is
Waveline dc4000 return.
Vertex reactor for carbon and rowaphos.
Grotech ngllll for Ca Kh Mg and vodka.
Two vortech Mp40.

Lightning is pacific sun Pandora S whit smt leds, that means no white leds, it's a hybrid whit 2x75w led and 4x39w T5 and runs by bluetooth.

The tank is almost 6 months old.

What fish do you have?

I have two tangs one yellow and one purple, 2 bangaiis, one mandarin and a single Picasso clown, I havent seen Them on any corals in my tank!!

I did vodka for the nitrate, and when the acans started too shrink I stopped vodka, and the nitrate is going up!

Yes, I have done that for over 8 months and they Look looked healty until 4 weeks ago, even my scolymias are looking sad ;(

Ca are only at 340ppm and kh at 10.4dkh do I have so mutch corals that the Ca is going to fast?

What salt mix are you using? Are you dosing anything at all?

I'm using regular reef salt, and using balling, but maybe The mix of Ca is to low so I dont add as mutch as I could beacuse I have too mutch corals that nerds Ca?

What brand of salt is it? Calcium is a bit low but nothing major. If your corals are using up the elements the alkalinity is the first to go. Whenever I have a problem with my tank I stop all dosing, test daily and start over again. Only dose if needed.

I wouldn't rule out the tangs picking at them, Acans seem to be a favorite target for nipping fish. It only take a couple quick nips to make the whole colony close up for a while. Any other inverts that may irritate the Acans like hermits or peppermint shrimp?
