I thought you used to use actinic, aqua blue special, and 6500k bulbs. I’m curious why the change? The results were always amazing, so no complaints from me. I just want to understand your rationale.

you right , I did used the giessmann tropic 6500k for about a year .
it gave me good growth , and overall health for the corals.
but, in this days I'm focusing at more vibrant colors , not growth .

some colonies started to fight between them and its real headick to follow and keep fraging them ,on weekly basis.

so , that's the main reason that I switched the bulbs.
coral plus bulb is much more gentle to human eyes , then 6500k and aquablue special.

By the way , what is your bulb combination with 6500k bulb ?
how high do you hang your fixture above water surface?

I found that I had to hang my fixture at least 25 cm above the water . lower then that , and some corals almost fried .
PAR reading at this setup in my tank , showed 650 at top of the rocks and 250-300 at the floor of the tank.

I actually don’t use the 6500K bulb anymore because it’s a super ugly and makes the tank look yellow, like full of tannins and organics. It washes out the coral’s colors, and makes some of my fish look too yellow.

I just tried it again for fun today, and it solidified why I stopped using it lol.

My current (and favorite) combo is:
Blue plus x4
Aqua blue special: x2
Coral plus x2

Remember, I have 2x of the ATI 8 bulb fixtures, so I use a total of 16 bulbs for my 260 tank.

The fixture is 6.5” away from the waterline.

Yep , the 6500k did cause my tank to get yellowish color .
wow, 6.5" above the water is very close .
I'm assuming that there is only T5 , without LED's ?

Yes, I only use T5s.

It’s not that close because my tank is 26” tall, and my rockscape isn’t high. The corals have a buffer.

Oh okay....my tank is only 21" high ,and rocks are at 2/3 high at tank dimensions

Thank you !
I switched from red sea trace elements to tropic marin pro coral mineral , 30 days ago.

it's crystal form of all terrace elements that found in Tripic marin pro salt.
I talked with Hans from tropic marin , and he helped me with advice of how to make stock solution for dosing pump , of this product.

I saw really good results since the switch in this short period of time , and since I didn't done any other change during this the last month , I can say in confidence that this product gave serious boost for my reef , especially for the SPS.
I saw that this product is in the market for long time, I wish I knew that before.

here is the product:

Interesting I have not heard of that one. It seems not to be sold in the US. I’ve been using Tropic Marin Pro Coral A- and K+ trace for my SPS. Seems like the same thing but in 2 liquids vs solid form.
