My 90 Gallon Mixed Reef Build

I also have a 90 and i only use 1 200watt heater. It took longer to heat up to the 78 I wanted because it was just one but it gets the job done, temp had drop to 76/75. BRS has a video on heaters on YouTube, i would look for it and watch it. Its what i did. You probably will use more power when you start if your temp is low but after that it will be stable and not run as much endless your some where really cold. Am in fl and never needed one for over 5 years until this year.

Good vid! I think im sold on the neotherm! Maybe I will set the nertherm at 78d and have my controller to shut off at 80d or 81d? if it gets stuck on? I guess the neotherm temp consoler is very good based on that vid I watched. Also I will use my external controller to turn on at 74?75? Just in case the temp controller fails int he heater? Im trying to find the best redundancy . The neotherm are $ maybe Ill get 1 now and another later as my tank gets bigger.

So I got 1 person say 150w is fine and another 200w ;) Ill have to figure it out but remember I wont be using all of them at once. Maybe I useing the neotherm as my main and a lower end heater as a back up?

What if I did a 200w and 100w both neo therm heaters? Use the 200w and the 100w as a back up if needed. If i see it on then ill know the 200w is broke? I called Neo Therm about there heaters blowing up. They said the new ones are a second gen and they solved the issue due to the fact the rez inside was the problem.

I would say you'd be fine with that.

Got my saltwater mixing station built.

The 300w neotherm has 2 seperate heating elements, btw.
Also I have the same issue with my eheim heater not fitting in my r-200.
That's a nice mixing station. Mag drives are tanks they work forever.

Thank you. A lot of work. But its been really therapeutic.

Looks great! Is that one big glued together piece?

I would have loved to do it that way but everything has to go through a hole in the top that's about 15"x10". Things you learn after you've bought the tank you didn't think about before you bought the tank.

Actually it's better that it is not one big piece. You may have to take out parts of it in the future. ;)

Following along.

Putting the final touches on some woodwork, then paint.
